Superman vs. The Elite (DC Universe movie)

There'l be a new Superman animated series once the film is out I reckon

I'm pretty sure someone at WB is already working on another animated series for Superman to coincide with MOS. Synergy and all that.

Wow... I'm so excited for this. I've been wanting a Superman story that A) centers on Superman's humanity and morality and B) has great Superhero/Villain fights for literally years. This may be my favorite Superman story ever.

Oh and Pantro? I sure hope you're right about the Superman show, but I haven't been hearing anything about it--and that would have to come out next year, yes? They've already announced the new Batman show. Man, I'm tired of the only Superman on TV being a distant daddy figure (coughyoungjusticecough).

They have been doing that with Batman consistently and the last time they did that after Superman Returns (Superboy and the LSH). Of course they are doing it now with Green Lantern (the animated series on the DC Nation block). Rumor has it that there will be a (3D CGI?) Batman series starting next year.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did have a Superman animated series next year as well.

I wouldn't mind a Superman CGI show at all

I've never read the story but the concept I think is great. Yeah,I'm one of those who isn't thrilled by Superman's design here.I prefer him less bulky like on the SHAZAM/Black Adam and Young Justice appearences.Still,I'm really looking forward to this.

BTW,wasn't that Dr.Light and Atomic Skull in that trailer?

It certainly was

Also lots of screencaps from the trailer here: http://worldsfinestonline.com/WF/dcuam/elite/

Action #775 is without a doubt my favorite Superman comic of all time but I'm getting really sick of these adaptations of pre-existing stories. I miss when they did more original stories with these DTV's just influenced by many years of the canon like Wonder Woman as opposed to directly adapting specific stories.

While I don't entirely mind I think it's causing a sense of "been there, done that" since some of the stories their adapting are hitting beats that were already hit in the DCAU, or in the case of "Batman Year One", a beat that was hit on in a live action film, so that does take a little jolt of excitement out of the proceedings.

I would prefer a mixture of original stories and adaptations for this line...

Some adaptations can feel redundant.

So they're showing this at Wondercon hope we get some reviews/feedback soon

Great reviews sounds like they've nailed another one

I thought it looked good anyway but the reviews have gotten me even more pumped.

It's great to hear George Newbern as Superman again.

Definitely Tim Daly is my Superman but George Newbern is only a step behind him in my opinion. To hear him again is awesome, I really hope he gets the gig in a new Superman animated series.

Is it me or are they trying to channel Margot Kidder a bit with that Lois Lane design?
That would make a lot of sense, since Pauley Perrette's voice is reminiscent of Kidder's in its hoarseness.

This is how they should make a JLA movie!
A computer animated movie. 3D (optional) CGI Full length, fully animated Justice League movie!
This is how you can bring all the characters to the big screen, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, all of the big ones for the first film. All the actors would have to do is voice work. You wouldn't have to worry about it fitting into the Nolan films or the characters costumes looking silly or people not knowing about some of them.
You could even get big time actors to voice them.
Bale could be Batman. Angelina Jolie or Monica Bellucci could be Wonder Woman. Neil Patrick Harris could play Flash. It would be so cool. John Dimacio (spelling?) could voice Aquaman.
The budget wouldn't be much of an issue, not like a live action film. Also, the action and scale could be as big as they want it. A full scale invasion by Darkseid could happen if they wanted. Mongul, the Injustice League. Starro controlling all the other heroes. Blackest Night even.
Plus this would separate it from the Avengers films. No crossovers, no live action. It would be its own film, a big fully animated big budget JLA movie!
They could do 3 movies like this too, Shrek has done over 5 movies right? It could be awesome!
They could make the style as cartoony as they want, very stylized. Or they could make it as realistic as they wanted, very rendered. They could even use the motion capture type stuff they used in Tin Tin. Tin Tin is a great example of what the JLA movie could be like, a comic turned into a big budget movie, fully computer animated using big actors like James Bond and Golum and Xavier.

A CGI Justice League movie is a fantastic idea

And that hoarseness is one of the reasons I don't like Margot Kidder's Lois Lane.

I thought JL: Doom was a one off, badly animated DC production. I guess it was the start of a worrying trend.

I don't mind most of the designs but Superman's giant chin still looks off.

This movie just has an overall meh! vibe about it.

The story and the animation aren't really exciting me the way it should. It seems like it's being thrown out to fill the summer slot and half it's budget was given to The Dark Knight Returns.

The only thing I'm really looking forward to is hearing George Newbern as Superman again.
