I'm so mad. I'm so mad. I'm pissed. After seeing that interview with producer Charles Roven, I just want to to scream. Okay, although I've already known they were going to make Batman older, wiser and have existed long before Superman ever did, not that I was willing to accept, but I thought, I can take it.

But the more I keep hearing about Batman...and how they are going to make Batman be taller than Superman, so Superman can look up to Batman. Eff this. Shame on you Snyder, Roven, Goyer and Chris Terrio. I'm furious.

I'd get it if Batman and Superman have their differences with each other while at the other hand be inspired by each other, but this is ridiculous. Superman is Superman. He doesn't look up to Batman. They are supposed to disagree with each other. Superman is supposed to set the shining example. A bright symbol of hope. He is the one that is supposed to inspire people and other heroes, not that Batman can't either, but Superman was the 1st. People are supposed to look up to Superman. It always has been that way until now. Look, Batman is dark, and in no way can inspire good like Superman can.

Batman is a vigilante who fights criminals with his bare hands and will do what he needs to do, if he needs to kill, he will. He's about vengeance.

Now the producers are switching sides, and having Superman look up to Batman. Now they are just trying to make Batman look better than Superman in every way possible. Older, wiser, the first superhero (yeah I know, not considered that way, but existed before Superman is what I mean) more experienced, taller and bigger looking than Superman.

This film's purpose so far just seems to be about proving that Batman is better, and the only human, physically capable of defeating Superman...because he's so intelligent and even more so, he's even superior to Stephen Hawkings or Einstein.

It's not logical. And God, why is he better, or why would Batman win? Because in the end, he's human? As Scott Snyder said.

When it comes to Batman, no one will ever question why Batman is seemingly so perfect when it comes to his intellect, just simply because of that, he can defeat Superman. Just because he is so smart, a genius, or let me put it this way, just "because he's Batman" people will say, "of course he can beat Superman!" Yet....people always complain about the logic of Superman's ability to fly.

What's more, what I am not happy with is that this film seems to not only be about proving that Batman is better than Superman, but it looks like they are trying to make Superman the antagonist, and out to be a *****e bag. Why must they waste their time on this?

I have no problems with the Man of Murder looking up to the BatGod.:o

"Superman was the FIRST. NOT Batman"

And I find this inversion to be great!

If there were any superheroes around when Bruce was becoming Batman, him taking inspiration from them would be obvious and would deter the character significantly. He would be an ordinary human who pretends he is a superhero.

That was also a Nolans conclusion when he was creating his Dark Knight universe, so he decided to make a world not just without superheroes, but without superhero comic books.

And of course that Superman won't look up to or be inspired by Batman, we saw in MOS what inspired him to become that.

So, you watch a poorly done interview that didn't ask any questions about Superman at all, and panicked? I am so friggin tired of people freaking out over so little and reading into things in a way that only results in them making themselves miserable instead of behaving like reasonable human beings. I love Superman, but some of the fans here need to stop jumping to conclusions and calm the hell down.

Actually, the title of the movie seems to make Batman look like the antagonist.

So if Superman was the first, why was there a poster in the building that said keep calm and call Batman?

Gu3ree, learn to read please.

“It is our intention that, in success, [Man of Steel] would be the zero issue and from this point onward, possible films could expand into a shared universe. In our world, the Man of Steel world, Zack has gone on record saying that we’re implying there are other superheroes in this world. But I don’t know that they’ve come forward yet. The idea is that Superman is the first one. There might be people helping people, but not in costumes, and that Superman comes forward and announces himself to the world. In him announcing himself, he’s the one that changes things.”

TL;DR - Superman being the first to reveal himself doesn't necessarily mean that there were no other heroes.

Also, in what world does Superman not look up to Batman? They may disagree with each other's ideals, but they also simultaneously respect each other's ideals.

This movie is not about proving Batman is better than Superman. It's the other way around. :o

Yeah but reportedly, Bruce Wayne will be on his mid-40's, tired and weary. So he has been fighting crime for for a decade or more. Retired and coming back in the game. So that statement has been changed.

I otherwise wouldn't have minded. Other heroes existing, but Superman being the first to reveal himself, but no, Batman was actually the first in this world.

So ****ing what? Quit crying my god. You really needed to make a whole thread so you could cry?

Many people seemed to get your title wrong.

Anyway, I stand behind what I said about the matter.

Superman's still the first superhero though, even with Bats having already been around. A vigilante with gadgets, training, and an effective gimmick isn't gonna rock the world on anywhere near the level of a flying, bulletproof, super strong alien that can shoot beams of pure heat out of his eyeballs. And I think Roven's comment about Superman looking up to Batman was meant to be taken literally, not figuratively.

You know what Flash will be called since he hasn't been revealed?

The Red Blur.
