They piggy-backed an angel who absorbed every single soul inside Purgatory that included the Leviathans. If it was just the Leviathans, there's no way a Leviathan could have travelled to Heaven while controlling an angel as we see what happens when it was just the Leviathans inside an angel.



It's not really presented at all the way you're trying to explain it, though.

We also see what happens when it's just Leviathans inside an angel...can't really see the Leviathans using an angel to get to Heaven when said angel was close to bursting out in a matter of seconds.



The angels on Earth with Kevin got slaughtered, but I'm sure the angels still left in Castiel's garrison are alive, such as Inias(who I hope shows up again).

Ive seen plenty of stuff in 8 seasons to make me think the rules and boundaries only exist until they don't. They've shown enough to make me think a powerful entity could claim a vacant hell or heaven. With Kevin's translations being exactly that, slow going translations, and the tablets being books with inifinite knowledge and Naomi and Crowley both saying the tablets could destroy them I'm taking it at face value. The tablets do more than seal gates. Sealing the gates of heaven and locking the angels in isn't destruction. And if all Naomi meant was that angels on earth die when the gates seal then she could have just recalled the angels to heaven when Cas took the tablet and there would be no risk other than the gates sealing which again isn't destruction.

And you are also assuming we the viewers and the team hold all the answers about the endgame. In 8 season when have our heros ever seen all the cards before the finale? There is a twist coming or something much more substantial with these tablets. The gates sealing is just the tip. There will be a revelation that they got something wrong or a bigger plot is in play. At this point all we can do is speculate based on what has happened. That is what I am doing. I think the gates sealing is a secondary minor function to the main function of the tablets.

On another note, I wanna know what Naomi and Crowley got up to in Mesopotamia.

No, it's been established that demons are just tortured human souls and like ghosts/spirits they can be permanently banished by burning their remains. The body that Crowley always uses is just someone he's possessing, it isn't his original meat suit.

In my opinion they made to big a deal out of Crowley's bones for it to be incorrect, heck they had the Winchesters leave america for the first time in order to hunt them down.

If you view it as that with boundaries being able to bend or break, more power to you, but I saw Leviathans corrupting an angel by themselves in a matter of seconds that does not seem to suggest the Leviathans could piggy back their way into Heaven while using an angel. To each their own I suppose until either one of us gets a clear confirmation from the show, but that may never even happen, lol.

It's entirely possible that, being from the British Empire during the age of British Imperialism, Crowley referring to Iraq as Mesopotamia isn't an anachronistic thing, it's a racist thing. Like calling Asia "The Orient" and Africa "The Dark Continent."

That's nothing, when you consider that they've done two one year later jumps and the in-show timeline currently takes place in 2013.

But Crowley's the only one we know is that young. Most of the demons we've met are either of an unknown age or clearly thousands of years old. Even Ruby was over 1,000 years old.

Remember that time moves far slower in Hell. An Earth month is a Hell decade. So if Crowley died in the 1600's he'd of spent thousands of years in Hell before turning into a demon.

The Mesopotamia line is just kind of a throwaway bit of dialogue that the writers probably just didn't think through all the way. This show has had stuff like that happen before; and will pry have it happen again. Just how it goes. They made it pretty clear in 'Weekend at Bobby's,' however, that Crowley the demon was once a man in the 17th century. Sold his soul, went to Hell, eventually experienced the crunch.

Considering his role in Justified is over I wouldn't be surprised to see him return. Nect episode looks awesome! How much you want to bet Sam ends up having to save someone else and leave Bobby behind?

And I bet it is going to be a lot harder for Sam to go through with closing the gates of hell once he has seen how many souls Crowley has trapped in hell.
