Vampires, demons, the forces of darkness...
Angels, elves, and other benevelent creatures are all concidered the supernatural.

This was somewhat discussesed in another thread but I wanted to know your thoughts in general.

I have found that Folklore and other things of that nature facinate me. I recently researched it for a speach I found so many things that seem to suggest that it is more based on our timeperiod that effect how we look at supernatural than what is actually paranormal. It although does not mean I necessarily believe in it or not.

So what do you feel about it.

Angels, demons, I believe in them. In the Old Testament, God warned against consulting with spirits, so I believe in those things. My translation doesn't elaborate--spirits as in ghosts or in terms of nature spirits like sprites and faeries and the like. Not sure about vampires, though. So its not outside the realm of possibility, in my opinion.

I do not believe in ghosts, demons, angels, etc. Unless I see one for myself then no...

In my christian belief.......

I don't believe in ghosts as a parable in the Bible taught against that. However, I believe one still may experience a ghost, but is it really a ghost?

There is a guy I know from my church who claims to have seen some form of a spirit, a white, shining woman with no face and a gown, while he was tearing down the house she was murdered in. But I've had no personal experiences with any kinds of spirits or ghosts and what not.

This should be in the Ghostbusters thread.

I'm thinking of changing it to the X-Files thread.

I love mythology and folklore. I find it fascinating. I don't believe any of it, though it would be awesome if creatures of folklore did exist.

But really, folklore, like religion, is just how we explained things before we developed the scientific method to see what was really going on. Think about it: right now, if you go for a walk at night, there are street lights, building lights, public transport, etc. But imagine just a few hundred years ago, when people would return home after a night at the pub. No street lights, nothing. Pitch black darkness. We all know our imaginations run wild in the dark. Imagine tripping over a log, maybe you're a bit intoxicated, maybe not. You just know something tripped you, maybe you hear animal noises nearby. I bet creatures like goblins, gnomes, elves, etc. arose from circumstances just like that.

I have never seen a ghost, but I have heard voices in my house when I was alone. So I guess it boils down to this: schizophrenia or haunting?

But I do believe in ghosts.

Rawr..:)

I would love to see a ghost. Why would people be scared of that? LOL

Proof of an after life ha ha.

Ummm, isn't or wasn't there a thread called room 666 a while back that dealt with these topics?

My house might be haunted. I've felt it since I was a child, so have all of my friends, my sister and her friends. Mostly around the basement. Sometimes other places. Like a stalking presence always watching. Turn, there's nothing there. When I told someone about this before, felt a hand reach me from behind and PULL me back. Very creepy. Always feel like I'm being watched. Sometimes when I feel that, gets extremely cold and I get very sick. There's some strange noises sometimes. But, I've survived for this long so at least it's not dangerous.

Don't know if it's a ghost per se, I believe it is or I might just be crazy.

I've always been a firm believer of the unknown and that there are forces in this world that we cannot comprehend. Whether it'd be Ghosts, demons, aliens, or whatever, these are aspects that I've always maintained a belief in ever since I was a little kid.

So do I believe in the supernatural? Yes, absolutely. I do believe that in some instances there are forces of good and evil battling out in this realm. Hence why I believe certain homes have a good presence and others have a evil dread that cannot be explained.

While I've never experienced a haunting or any kind of poltergeist thankfully, it's something that I feel everyone should have an open mind about and not easily dismiss the notion because of not being able to see it.

i love the supernatural... always will.

and i believe in it to some extent, i mean... i know i find it a bit odd that nearly everytime i drive down the street and i'm experiencing a heavy thought or emotion, either a street lamp will flicker and turn off as i pass under it (one time 3 did on my way home) or my cars dashboard lights will start making a clicking sound and flicker on and off
