The Last Jedi Supreme Leader Snoke

But the consequences of it are much more different and make the next part more exciting. [BLACKOUT]The uber powerful was killed by his talented but still unfocused aprentice who took over the First Order. Instead of having this mark the end of Order and purified Kylo, it just made him fall deeper into the dark side.[/BLACKOUT]

I think the outcome made it less exciting. [BLACKOUT]Since Kylo didn't show any growth in power or character (he's as much as a child as he ever was) he isn't worthy of being the "big bad". He's already been bested by the protagonist, so we've already gotten that satisfaction, and since she's the one with no experience time is on her side.[/BLACKOUT]

So, not much background on the Supreme Leader. I had hoped we get a novel about him, but on the other hand, I really don't want to see his face on the cover. :D

We need to learn more about Snoke, we just do. Where did he come from? How did he learn about the force? How powerful is he?

I liked the character A LOT. From a performance perspective, I liked him even better than the Emperor. But if we don't get an explanation of how an extremely advanced dark side force user came into being, then that is way too loose of storytelling for my tastes.

Why do you think that?

Clone is a wrong word.

I think The Dark Side of the Force takes a human form like God is Jesus Christ in Christian faith.

The Dark Side of the Force is Darth Sidious.

The Dark Side of the Force is Snoke.

Both of their personalities are almost the same, from manipulators to being extremely feared and being 10 steps ahead of everyone UNTIL their overconfidence leads them to being sucker punched.

Snoke also talks about Vader in a very intimate way. He talks about him like he knew him the way Sidious did. The way he describes Vader to Kylo is like how Palpatine would talk about Vader.

The way he mocks Rey also seems very Palpatine like.

Yeah there's leaving things ambiguous or open and there's bad storytelling

Yeah, I think we need some kind of explanation of who he was and where he came from. [BLACKOUT] I’m fine if we learn about it through flashbacks, but unfortunately, we don’t have many characters left who were around once he started messing with Ben. Though perhaps someone else could reappear to fill us in (Lando, maybe?). If not, then it does feel like they just didn’t bother to give us any backstory in a place where it’s pretty crucial.

However... it’s been a while since I’ve seen the original trilogy but as I recall, we weren’t given any backstory on Palpatine back then. In fact, I don’t even think they used his name in the movies. I remember reading the novelization of the first Star Wars movie and that provided the backstory on how he took over the republic and became emperor. But I don’t think any of that was discussed in the films until the awful prequels. So maybe it’s not so critical that we learn about Snoke, I don’t know. [/BLACKOUT]

One way or the other, I did really like Snoke... I found him WAY more fearsome and devious than Palpatine. Certainly one of the best CGI villains I’ve ever seen, too; he looked great.

This guy charmed the pants off me lol.

I really wonder what Andy thinks about this. You would think a guy like him wouldn't want to do this rule if it was just going to end like this. Just fells like a waste to have someone that could and not do more with him.

Andy Serkis got paid to be in two Star Wars movies. What's he got to complain about?

Snoke was a entertaining villain. [BLACKOUT]And I was really surprised by his sudden demise.[/BLACKOUT]

Sure being in a star wars movie is great but I don't know I would just think he would want for out of playing this rule has he was it in so little it almost fells like they could have went with a bad actor and not had much of a difference really.

I think Andy Serkis is just happy to have prominent roles in big movies like these at all. Serkis is respected, but he's also not exactly Robert DeNiro here. Or Harrison Ford for that matter. Dude gets to play a villain in a Star Wars film. It's like every kids dream young and old.

Significantly more than he was in The Force Awakens. And significantly more than Boba Fett in all his Star Wars appearances.

That is true guess I was just hoping he would get a lot more time to shine.

Snoke's chamber looked incredible. Whoever designed that room needs a raise.

Anyone find it interesting that Williams used the
Emperor's theme
with Snoke?

There's still Episode 9.

His backstory could still be explained in a few passing sentences from Husk and or Kylo.

All we really need is when and how he became the Dark Lord. Surely Abrhams got that covered for the last movie.

Matt47 I have heard a few people bring that up not sure if that really means any thing or not.

I'm assuming he was introduced to be taken down like. Sorta like a case of "irony" or something. I thought his demise worked but more because it wasn't exactly predictable.

Yeah that looked amazing and I loved the guards.

However, my girlfriend had a different take. She thought it looked like some sort of BDSM dungeon and Snoke looked like Hugh Hefner, lol.
