Swamp Thing support

Seeing what they could do with Iron Man & the Hulk effects wise , I think Swamp Thing would benefit even more from it. It all boils down to the tone & direction they give him.

I'm begining to think that Swamp Thing could be a cool tv show, there was already made one in the 90s, but i think a new one could be cool, with todays technology and all
If it was treated with the same care Daredevil was then it's the best avenue to go considering his best stories are the sprawling epics. I would not like to see it on a network like Gotham or get the Kreisberg/Johns treatment either. Netflix be perfect for it. And set it in the DC film-verse. We all know the tv shows are going nowhere.

Netflix isnt a bad choice or even Amazon now is getting into shows, maybe Amazon could make a deal with DC for certain characters ala Marvel with Netflix.

An extended R-rated series would probably be the best venue for a proper Swamp Thing show so that the stories would receive the care and respect they require and deserve.

R strictly for violence?

Some violence and horror elements as pertaining to the Moore run, which was definitely not a "kid's comic." It wouldn't be a platform for gratuitous nudity and profanity. The book didn't require it, and nor should the adaptation.

Its possible to make it very scary/spooky with out the R rating. To me , I think an R rating would come in for an absolute gore fest. I would hope Swamp thing doesnt have to go that far.

I am now crossing my fingers that the empty suits in Hollywood see that a superhero movie rated R can perform well [Deadpool] and now go for the home run and try to develop an R rated horror themed Swamp Thing.

It is a big IF but if this new Justice League dark includes Swamp Thing maybe that will spark some interest for a live action film.

I’m happy to hear about Crystal Reed getting cast in Swamp Thing.

Was there 'ANY' explanation of why the series got cancelled?
I couldn't find much on it that was concrete.

Swamp Thing Blu-Ray on Feb 11th will be a day one by me.

This was the TV show that almost got me to sign up for DCUniverse until AT&T pulled the plug on it and the secretive stifling manner I heard the mods on the forums were acting towards paid subscribers subsequently.

It wasn't due to tax breaks too so that was misleading PR akin to lying as well. Anyway, sadly I didn't watch this show yet but might on HBOMax...

Great series and gonna buy hte blu-ray! i wish HBOMax could buy the series for another season as we want it.

Speaking of, yeah, since I don't have DC Universe- or any streaming universe- was lucky enough to find and pick up the Blu-Ray for Swamp Thing a few days ago- as well as Season 2 of Titans. Hoping to get around to them...once I finish off the last few episodes of Doom Patrol.

If DC streaming universe was similar to Disney Plus then I would say Swamp Thing is perfect for this streaming universe but then again so are certain other heroes

Is a shame is all we got was that 1 season.
It could have been on the verge of being a HUGE series.
The only reason I found on its cancellation was :
A source who worked on the show said there was buzz on set that WarnerMedia might fold DC Universe into its own upcoming streaming service, which is also expected to include HBO and Cinemax. That means WarnerMedia could have an alternate vision for DC Universe than originally expected, which could have influenced the "Swamp Thing" cancellation.

I am fairly confident but more or less excited with the new direction for DC.
Mostly because of what I have read about Gunn & Safran are trying to do.
I know it's not much to go by but, at least they are public with an overall plan.
Gunn's work on the Peacemaker series was good, it illustrates his talent well.
It doesn't fit the character of Superman, but it does show he can write for an individual DC character & make it relevant.
I think based on that we should give him & Peter the benefit of the doubt.
Only time will tell, but maybe this new DCU will be one that surpasses them all.

James Wan is a very good director and underrated.
His work on Aquaman I think was above average & his experience in the horror genre is just as good or better.
I would in fact, I would now nominate James Wan to handle Swamp Thing .
It seems a natural for him since DC wants to go with a horror vibe.
