Anyone game for a "Swamp Thing" remake?

I just recently watched one of my old childhood favorites "Swamp Thing" on DvD and I was wondering how cool would a remake be if Wes Craven came back. I was just wondering if people think it should stay a cheesey ol' classic from 1982, or get the remake treatment but with original director.

Personally i'd be going ape **** if I found out this was a fact, but let's hear what you guys think.

it's an adaption even going with exact plot and director from 1982? So the new "The Wolf-man" movie is another adaption not a remake, even though that director is probably dead from the 40's version?

1. It's a comic book movie.

2. Wes Craven blows now.

3. The original film is based on the early Len Wein/Berni Wrightson books. And wasn't that good at all. It's fun, not very good. WB should make a film based on the Alan Moore stuff, which is much more epic in scale and damn good.

A remake of the original film wouldn't be very exciting, regardless of how good the original one is.

What they should do is make Constantine 2, and have him investigating a swamp demon, who turns out to be Swamp Thing. They can then do one of the classic Constantine/Swamp Thing issues as the story for it. Then, you spin off Swamp Thing into his own movie/prequel with the origin, and Arcane.

Yeah, it did. I picked it up, as I remember liking it as a kid. God, it's terrible. Like, one of the worst, most nonsensical shows I've ever seen.

well, i like your idea, but it should be switched around. Isn't WB a bit iffy on the idea of a Constantine 2? If anything, they should make a Swamp Thing series and use Constantine in there, if they aren't going to give Constantine his own franchise.

Cronenberg adapts Alan Moore is prolly one of the greatest concepts ever.

As much as I like Constantine, Cronenberg should have been on that from the beginning.

Just finished watching the 1982 movie. Kind of uneven. It has it's moments, but some of it is just ridiculously cheesy and cheap looking. I'm all for a new SWAMP THING movie if it's taken seriously and not set in the freaking daytime. Anyone remember watching the 1990-1993 TV series?

which is exactly why i proposed that they make a Swamp Thing movie instead and introduce the Blonde, British Constantine in those films.

Who should play Swamp Thing?

I would think that Vinnie Jones would look sweet in all the make-up and prosthetics, and he could maybe pull off Moore's ST,but maybe not the mad scientist version
