Sweetest Thing You've Ever Done for a Member of the Opposite Sex

Well, back in '03, I was dating this girl I met in one of my college classes. Christmas came up, which is my favorite holiday, so I was in the Christmas spirit. She wasn't, though. Christmas for her had always been horrible as a kid, so she didn't really enjoy the holiday. She said she didn't understand why I liked Christmas so much, so I asked her to let me show her my favorite Christmas tradition. We went to City Hall on Christmas Eve. I got us some hot chocolate, and we watched the people at City Hall light up the gigantic Christmas tree that sits outside of the building. I'll never forget the way she smiled when they lit it up. She looked absolutely beautiful, illuminated by the lights from the tree. She kissed me and thanked me for showing her my tradition, then we went back to my house and had dinner with my family.

Many months later, after we had broken up and remained friends, I admitted to her that seeing her smile in front of the tree was actually the moment I realized I was in love with her. Yeah, I know. Sounds pretty damn cheesy, but it's the truth.

I'm tired of doing nice things for chicks only to find out she has a boyfriend. So I stopped doing them.Once I actually get a g/f,that's when I'll send flowers and such.Women like things like that but ONLY from thier boyfriends you always hear "I love it when my boyfriend _____"

Or same sex. Whoever you're attracted to.

With Valentine's Day in less than I month, and being inspired from a thread on a different forum, I ask you: What is it?

For me, I was up late (it was about 2 but it was last summer so I had nothing to do in the morning), and I wanted to do something nice for someone. One of my female friends, who I had a crush on and am now very much infatuated with, was injured and was unable to do many things she normally did in life, due to her being active. She had torn a muscle of some kind or whatever in her leg.

She was very sad over this and I was completely lost on what I could do. Powerless to help :csad:

So I decided "Aha! I'll go to Wal-mart and buy her flowers and a get-well card!"

And speeding off into the night I go. On my way there, I remembered her older sister (grade above me and two grades above her) was also similarly injured because of a basketball accident, poor girl was out of basketball for her senior year. I decided hey why not, get her flowers too.

At the store, I find the perfect flowers I though she'd like the best (red roses) and select vases (I'll be damned if I just leave them on the ground). I then realize I better buy water. So I do.

I drive up to her house, without lights and stopping a few houses down. I grab the stuff, run up, and put the flowers in the vases, fill the vases with water, and leave cards with their name on each in their driveway beside a pile of mulch (I would have put them on their doorstep but I didn't know if they had invisible lights).

The next day, she told me the story of how someone woke up her mom with their loud car. Whoops. But she built up to it, and revealed to me the next morning they found flowers! She thought it was the sweetest thing. I told her a few months later when she questioned it more.

No happy ending. She got a boyfriend. And while we were friends, I haven't even spoken with her in like two months. :csad:

If your going to do something like this...never do it to another girl at the same time...that's where you screwed up. It was a nice gesture, but women are in competion with each other, sister or not.

Or same sex. Whoever you're attracted to.

With Valentine's Day in less than I month,

dear god...it's a meaningless holiday:csad:

that being siad how long until the "who's your hype valentine?" thread is up and running?:oldrazz:

oh, i'm sorry, i didn't realize there was a question in there.
i didn't see any "?".
There didn't need to be. I presented a conundrum; if she's set on playin around, asking her straight out isn't going to give her an epiphany and make her tell the absolute truth. There's absolutely nothing wrong with flirting back with her, especially since she's not just some random girl.

and you know what, you're right. she'll probably lie.
i'm coming to you for ALL my relationship advice from now on.
after all, you are a man who knows his porn.
Except I don't, which...is why....the person I quoted...isn't....me.

clearly you are an authority. :D
This whole "I'm more mature than you" angle is wearing thin when so far you've done nothing but throw petty jabs instead of debating like the supposed adult you are.

It's my experience that a woman who's really into you and is worth pursuing won't lie to you.
But she'll flirt. :o

When my friend was sick, I brought packets of Vitami C powder to her house.

I usually offer food or cook for someone that's sick, male or female. I call friends at 12am to sing happy birthday.

I surprised her by picking her up from school and giving her two tickets to a show she wanted to go to and then took her to a Hibachi for lunch. It was good.

Oh gosh, I looooove doing random creative things for my boyfriend so I don't even know which one would be considered the "sweetest." Some of the ones I had the most fun doing though:

Coming up with 365 things I love about him. Typed them up, cut them into individual slips of paper, and filled a shoebox with them that I covered with pictures of us. That way, he can read one every day of the year.

Last Valentine's Day I spent ages cutting out red paper hearts and while he was in class I covered his entire room in hearts, then jumped out from behind his bed when he came into the room. Haha that was fun.

The one time a romantic plan of mine ever went right and just the way I planned...I was a little younger so it was harder to do the things I wanted...but...she loved exotic seafood (and I hated it) but she would always try to get me to eat some slimey stuff and it became a joke with us. So...I told her I had a special night planned and that we would need access to her family boat which was docked at a bay near her house...I had some super expensive escargot specially made at an expensive place she liked to eat dinner at...got it to go...had a 21yr old get me a bottle of Wine...got candles and everything...dishes, a cooler, candles, flowers, and ice cream and strawberries...there was a nice moon out...we layed down on the deck most of the night...and it was my first time ever opening a bottle of wine on my own...got it done without any help and just pretended like I knew what I was doing and the "pop" sound of the cork echoed throughout the tiny harbor...the food was good, the mosquitos weren't bad but we did end up going below...and well, those details a gentlemen never tells. The only station on the radio that the boat picked up was country...luckily she was a fan of all music and it really did help cuz they were playing some sappy songs that night...one of the most romantic nights of my life...and hopefully hers...it was a summer fling and man o man I highly reccommend you go for those chances and make the best of those moments.

I've never told anyone this......

But on some anniversery with some chick, I fixed a candle light dinner and made a kickass cookie cake. :csad:

Then I got to lick some breasts.
