for fantasy fans or just fans of Terry Goodkinds series...the mini-series will be debuting this November....I never really read fantasy and this was the first fantasy series I read as a teenager...Hope it sticks aroud

they are showing tv spots for it on tbs now, looks pretty good so far

Has anyone seen the previews for this? Its looking awesome.

Ive read a few of the books and after watching the promos and previews ,they seem to be doing a decent job of translating the source material for tv.

Anyone else looking forward to this show?

This is the only thread I found for this so, here's the newest preview

I'll check it out. I enjoyed the other Raimi/Tapert shows, but they were charming/campy in their own, fun way.

A lot of fans of the Goodkind books aren't happy about some of the changes though.

Fans of books and comic are very hard to please when their favorite thing is made into a show or movie.

I still have high hope for it though and enjoyed the first 30 minutes they released on itunes.

has anyone else seen it yet?

Nah, but I'm definitely dvr'ing the first two episodes which are airing together on Saturday.

It's airing on CW here in LA, CA.

Since you've read the books, Might Guy:

What happens to Kahlan and Richard's baby after she's beaten? Did she lose the baby that she was scared of having because of the prophecy?

Just FYI for LOTR fans, the villain in LEGEND OF THE SEEKER is played by Haldir from Fellowship and Two Towers. The Gandalf/wizard character, Zedd, is played by Bruce Spence from Matrix Revolutions, Mad Max, and the Mouth of Sauron in Return of The King.

I've not read the books, but this looks interesting, and i like the team behind it, so I'll be tuning in.

I'm definately tuning in i read the books and hope the series is good, not sure if it is on the the right network though. The books had a lot of nudity and stuff, intense torture and bloody battles also. Might hae been better on HBO like Rome.

Well, you just made me want to buy the books :D

That looks quite impressive for a satuday show.

Bridget Regan is hot! Never heard of the books but I'll be watching.

Wow, I thought the main guy was Dominic West in that first shot of him. He's much younger upon closer inspection, though.

This looks kind of cool, actually. I loved the campiness of the previous Raimi/Tapert shows, but this doesn't look campy at all. I've never heard of the books, so I may actually enjoy the TV show.

I just wiki'd the books, and they seem really interesting. Though there are 11 to date in the series.

I thought Goodkind actually penned the script though.

I heard that, but I'm not 100% sure.

I think Raimi said they tried not to inject a lot of humor in this one like Xena and Hercules.

X-fan, by nudity do you mean girls stripped down a lot, or the books actually had some you know, "action" in them. And by action I mean coitus ;) .

Oh, did they ever. One even had mistaken identity sex.

Also terrygoodkind.com is saying Goodkind had no casting or script approval. So he had nothing to do with the writing as far as as I now know.

What tyrinus said, a little of both, more stripped down stuff than the"act" but some of both, abit racey for regular t if you ask me, but camera angles can do alot. the last book is already out it is called confessor. all the books are more than 800 pages long so the series could easily last six or more seasons, i think.

This thread was here first and I formally request the other thread be purged

to my knowledge,Goodkind has concluded the series for now, Ive read them all but the last one....Im guessing he might write books in the future set in that world....

Well the first one has aired, i liked it for the most part they did change quite a bit, i guess if i hadn't read the books it would of seemed better to me, any one else feel that way?

For those familiar with Power Ranger Mystic Force and Jungle Fury there are two actors who will be in this show. I just spotted the actor that plays RJ and John Tui. Not surprising since this show is filmed in New Zealand.

I fell asleep right after Richard's ceremony to become seeker. It looks okay. Reminded me of Star Wars but I guess even star wars themes of a young man who is destined for greatness are taken from other sources too.

Crap, I missed it. Do you know if/when they'll replay it?
