'Sword of Truth' aka Legend of the Seeker

no sorry it might be online somewhere, anyone know , so lobo can see it?

I'm withholding my opinion for now. It's been a long time since I read Wizard's First Rule so I don't recall exactly what was changed. And as with most series, I doubt the first couple of episodes are a good indication of how the series will turn out.

OK it's up on surfthechannel, and I'm about half way through. Pretty decent so far. Part 2 airs at 4pm here, so I'll be all caught up :)

I'm just not sure why they made some of the changes, like richard not knowing zedd, like I said, it looks pretty good, probably would be better if i hadn't read the series.

OK I'm all caught up and enjoyed it quite a bit. The link on surfthechannel is about 87minutes.

I don't think he meant he literally didn't know him, only didn't know him well.

in the books him and zedd are friends and zedd has taught him lore and calls him the seeker of truth as a nick name because of all the questions he asks, i think the way they changed it took some away from that dynamic.

Yeah, here he was just the crazy old man who talks to chickens that Richard kinda knew.

Nope. I'd like to though, but fear it may ruin my enjoyment of the tv show. The again, I've never really minded changes to my favorite comic characters on tv/film, I separate the two. I've been reading about the books though

the first one was copywrit in 94 thats when i started the series, so its been a long time since i read book one lol, i might need to re read them. it dont hurt to read the source material, books are nearly always better than their film adaptions

Read the entire series, went in cautiously with slight hope and great fear...
was pleasantly surprised the changes were unnecessary but not deal breakers and the Richard and Kahlan are selling the hell out of it, gets  from me
(of course it's been about 10 years since I read the first book...)

yeah no deal breakers, the show was good, hope they get just a little closer to the book though, like you said there was no need to make some of the changes

also lobo had a post up there that had where you can see last nights episode, surfthechannel i think it was

Big fan of how fast Richard went to the My destiny My way attitude...

thought they made him too whiny in the beginning , he was much more confident in the books, from page one but he is shaping up

Agreed they went a little more fish out of water with the starting point somebody started with the same old same old, then someone else was like uh no were going to bring in the differences that make this different than everything else on the market...

i think if they had started him off confident it would hae been like nothing else out there, the hero always has to start out like he did in the show it seems

I loved the way he just tossed the book in the fire.

that was a good solution to the problem of rahl getting the book, there are a lot of twist in this story, your going to like it lobo

Yeah definitely my kind of thing. I'm thinking about getting the books too

The Kahlan actress is

yeah she is smokin :) there should be a lot of hotties in this
