'Sword of Truth' aka Legend of the Seeker

So what? You keep talking about the TV show and I'll talk about what I wish. After all, the books and shows are inextricably linked and I know both so you'll have to ignore my post if you wish to avoid "them damn books and all that readin'."

..............and the last couple of post are the reason I quit watching the show

I'm talking about specifically a possible love triangle in the TV show based off of comments the actress made.

Did Cara ever make a blatant sexual pass on Richard in the books? I doubt it.

Not blatantly, she does care for him...in one of the last books, she asks herself whether she could be in love with Richard....its a whole thing involving the chainfire spell

She did, in the books Chainfire and Phantom ... oh, did I mention books, are you gonna go flying off the handle and posting in all caps again now? Hard to make sweeping statements as to a characters actions when you've not read 'em.

Black Lantern says she didn't.

I'm simply referring to what's going on in the TV show. It seemed early on like there was a love triangle element with kara, richard, and kahlan. The actress also acknowledged it.

Both are right. Chainfire spell, Nicci's influence, Richard's refusal. You would have had to read it to get it, but it's both a yes and a no. Suffice it to say, that if Kahlan did not exist (like then) it would have went all the way.

saddly in hthe books i really wanted nicci to end up with richard, she truly loved him

The Prelate thought so too. I really liked her a lot too, in a series filled with strong female characters she was one of the best. Death's Mistress, the girl was brutal.

I really liked Nicci but that would have been one effed up ending to the book series if he didn't end up with Kahlan.

Might be spoilers here...........

It's funny in the stone of tears I wanted him to kill her, but by the time the series finished I thought she was better for him than kayla, I actually wanted kayla to not get her memory back sad i know

Remember that scene in Faith Of The Fallen when Kahlan felt Nicci through the link? Heartbreaking.

Well, it wasn't a full on sexual approach... Cara briefly gave thought to a future with her and Richard, before deciding Nicci was the one for him, after Richard saved her. She felt the emptiness in Richard from Kahlan and desperately wanted it to be filled.

Black Lantern says she didn't.

On the show they tried to start one, even though there shouldn't be. Kahlan's the only woman Richard wants. Myself, I couldn't decide... Kahlan, Cara and Nicci are all incredible women. I've always been pretty sweet on Jennsen too, although that wouldn't be a factor for Richard.

The line Cara said to Richard about slowing them down was directly out of the book...but it was a crappy attempt at making Cara the awesome character she is in the books. In the book she and the other Mord Sith are really funny, the way they joke about each other, Richard and Kahlan. The attempt at putting it in the show this late was kind of laughable.

Yeah, the humor is missing, but then it needs the rest of those Mord Sith to be apart of the group rather than just the small 3 person group. Remember them playing with the squirrel in the Wizard's Keep? Some magical moments in the series to be sure.

Its obvious they want to keep the core cast of the show small. So that wouldn't really wokr with Richard being followed around every episode by a group of Mord Sith at his beck and call.

Nah, you don't know this supporting cast man. It's one of the best ensemble casts you have ever read. Richard, Kahlan, Zedd and Kara are not together for the whole thing, in fact for many books they never see each other (like the majority of the last 3). Everybody has their own solo missions and the core changes shape, the other Mord Sith, the Rahl Generals, Nathan Rahl, Owen, Sisters, I could go on.

I'm talking about the cast of the TV show not the books.

I think it being a small group (in the show) is more about budget than anything else...you all have to realize that this is not a network show, its syndicated so they have to make do with what they have...would I like to have the other Mord Sith, sure

Well from the latest interview of Goodkind I saw, he does not seem to think the sow does the books justice but they remain an entry point into the books for those who have not read them. He describes the books as "so much more" then the TV show.

From what I have noticed they have taken too many liberties (specifically on the boxes of Orden) to be able to have the same climax as Goodkind had in Confessor.

I don't think so, considering that the Old World was just mentioned and Jagang hasn't even shown up yet, you can still get to the same point if the show even lasts that long

realistically, if it lasts more than 3 seasons I will be surprised
