Syberia III

Excellent. Between this and Dreamfall getting a sequel, it looks like all my favorite adventure games are coming back. :D

I still need to play the second one. Loved the first.

I think touch screens and tablets are helping to bring back the adventure game format.

Been a while since I touched this and it's really weird Sony went a bought and made Dream fall made it exclusive (Steeling it from other rival consoles that had access to it prior to that ) when they have this, which has a female protagonist too after the thing with Tomb raider that Ms stole from every one else console wise. hmm. Weird .

Ten Years After Syberia 2, Here’s Syberia 3 In Full 3D. August 14, 2014 . 8:30am

This week, Anuman Interactive provided an update on Syberia 3.

Back in 2012, Anuman Interactive announced that work on Syberia 3 was underway, and that the game would be released sometime during 2014 or 2015. This week, the publisher provided an update on the game.

As previously reported, Syberia 3 is being developed by Microids, who also developed the first two Syberia games. The game begins where Syberia 2 left off. Kate Walker has been taken in by the travelling Youkol people, and will learn about their culture by interacting with the tribesmen in a large market-like camp.

Syberia 3 has been in development for a year-and-a-half and will be in full 3D. The game is scheduled for release in 2015, and is being produced for PC, Mac, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, iPhone and Android. Microids have shared the first screenshots for the game as well.

“It is filled with emotion that we share with the saga fans those very first screenshots of Syberia 3, more than ten years after Syberia 2 was released,” said Elliot Grassiano, VP at Microids.

“We have been working for more than a year and a half on this ambitious title so that it meets the expectations of the passionate gamers of this adventure game. Seeing this unique universe imagined by Benoit Sokal take shape for the first time in full real-time 3D strongly increases the team’s motivation.”

Adventure series sequel gets worldwide release date.

Syberia-3-Dec-1-Ann.jpg

Syberia 3, the third installment in the cult adventure game saga first launched in 2002, will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac worldwide on December 1, publisher Microids announced.

It will be released in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Polish, and Russian.
Here’s an overview of the game, via Microids:
Syberia 3 begins with Kate Walker adrift on a makeshift craft. Fortunately, a caravan of the Youkol people, whom she encountered in Syberia 2, finds her before her life slips away. Determined to evade their common enemies, Kate decides to help the nomads fulfill the oddest of their ancestral traditions: accompanying the transhumance of the snow ostriches to the holy steppes where they can reproduce. The journey unfolds through scenery that is by turn enchanting and laid to waste, where the young woman will experience her most dangerous and wonderful adventures, with her pursuers always right behind her…

With cinematic scope, unforgettable characters, and sweeping story, Syberia 3 is the most technically advanced and visually spectacular Syberia game to date. The game’s rich and interactive score is created by award-winning composer Inon Zur. Rendered in full 3D for the first time ever, Syberia 3 has been developed for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles as well as PC and Mac from its inception. This will offer players a new level of freedom to explore its beautiful landscapes and cities and allow them to unravel mysteries and enigmas in ways never seen before in the saga.
If you’ve never played the previous games, both Syberia and Syberia II are available on Steam individually and in a bundle, as well as on PlayStation 3 in the Syberia Collection.

A new developer diary featuring designer Benoit Sokal and members of the development team discusses the series’ return, taking viewers behind the scenes of the game’s production and showing several sequences of the actual game.

Microids wants to "bring even more depth" to the game.

Syberia-3-Delayed-Q1-2017.jpg

Microids has delayed the release of Syberia 3, previously due out worldwide on December 1, to Q1 2017.

“Syberia 3 is the third opus of a mythical adventure game saga fueled by a rich universe and a strong identity. After the unprecedented excitement we have seen for this game, we decided to bring even more depth to Kate Walker’s new adventure,” said Microids vice president Elliot Grassiano in a press release. “We are aware that fans around the world are eager to embody Kate Walker again but we need additional time to provide them with an adventure that can live up to their expectations in this fascinating universe created by Benoit Sokal.”

Syberia creator Benoit Sokal also shared a statement. He said, “I am obviously disappointed that Syberia 3 is delayed because we would like to release our games as soon as the storyline is written, but I’m also relieved that Microïds has taken the decision to postpone the game’s launch because it is essential to offer players the best gaming experience possible.

We decided to add even more cinematics to this new fiction, more optional narrative sequences as well as new languages for the voice-over, which represents considerable work for teams.”
The upcoming sequel begins when series protagonist Kate Walker is found left for dead on a shore by the Youkol tribe, a nomadic people caring for their snow ostriches during migration. Trapped, prisoners in the city of Valsembor, they will have to find together a way to continue their journey in a chase against their enemies and unexpected challenges. But at the same time, Kate’s past is catching up with her.

Syberia 3 will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac when it launches. It will be fully dubbed in French, Russian, Polish and German with subtitles in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Czech, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, and simplified and traditional Chinese.
