AnimeJune said:Being alert and watching is one thing. If you're an airport guard, and you see an Arab, screen him as thoroughly and carefully as you do everyone else. If you want to be a little more thorough or careful, fine, your call.
But ACTING is another. Security measures have all been tightened considerably since 9/11 - to the point where when they caught those terrorists with the liquid bombs, they hadn't even boarded the plane yet. Even better - they were able to catch the terrorists on a DRY RUN, before they even planned on blowing up the plane.
Here's a funny story - my dad went to Wisconsin to visit his uncle. When he arrived, his uncle invited him out to a restaurant with a familiar name. My dad realized, "Hey, wasn't this restaurant chain in the paper? Something about a huge salmonella strain?"
His uncle said, "Yeah, it happened weeks ago."
My dad said, "Then why are we eating here?"
His uncle, with a grin, replied, "Because now they're guaranteed to be the cleanest restaurant in town."
This applies to the airline flights. If a person sits next to you on a plane, you can be assured they've been searched and screened. If an Arab sits next to you on a plane, well, then you're doubly safe - because you can rest assured that every airport guard they've passed has personally made sure they are.
See my point?
Except that it was just a few weeks before that some Muslim terrorists were doing dry runs with liquid explosives. It won't be too long before it gets incorporated into clothing.
