Sylvester Stallone is desperate to team up with Kurt Russell for a sequel to 1989 movie Tango & Cash.
The Hollywood stars played Los Angeles policemen who had to clear their names after being framed for murder in the action film. Sylvester enjoyed working with Kurt, and is keen for them to reprise their roles as Lieutenant Raymond Tango and Lieutenant Gabriel Cash respectively.
“Sly thinks there is still a story to be told with Tango and Cash and the chemistry between the two characters would be even more interesting now they are older,” a source explained.
The two actors have stayed friends since shooting the original film, and have already discussed working together again. Kurt is just as keen on the idea as Sylvester, and has already started thinking of a possible plot for the movie.
“Sly is still good friends with Kurt and, like Sly, he is interested in making an old-fashioned detective/buddy movie,” the source added. “There's a very good chance it will happen.”

Dear Lord, please let this happen! And if you can get Teri Hatcher back, even better!

Yeah, if there's one thing audiences have been crying out for is a follow up to this turkey.

Is he really serious? I liked the first one but why do a sequel?

A sequel now? I think its a bit too late for one.

It wasn't too late for Rambo! It wasn't too late for Rocky Balboa! :cmad:

Oh, no. Don't get me wrong. I loved Rocky Balboa and Rambo was OK. But I'm not sure if Tango and Cash would work. I think they could've turned it into a franchise, like Lethal Weapon, but Sly never looked back. . . until now.

I see it either way. I hope Teri Hatcher will return she's still smoking hot.

I would rather see Russell & Stallone team up on something new...

I liked it.It was pretty good.I remember wanting a sequel years ago.It did well at the box office what took them so long???!!!!!

I liked it too. Maybe they had money issues of how much Sly or Kurt were asking for a sequel. I think it would've been an entertaining franchise like Lethal Weapon or the first two Rush Hour films.

I don't think there's a huge demand for this sequel imo.

Sylvester Stallone........... Living the in past

I agree it would have been a good Franchise.
At 3-4 films and Lethal Weapon what's up with that???
These guys wait until there so old to realize they had a good thing.

Kurt Russell rejected an offer to appear in The Expendables. From Stallone himself,

‘’I know that many people on the site have asked for Kurt Russell. I asked for him too. Actually, I was taken aback when asked to put the request in a letter and send it to his agent. Subsequently, I was called back by the agent several days later after refusing to send a letter and he said Kurt Russell is not interested in ‘ensemble acting’ at this time. So, people, I came, I saw, I failed”.
