This is something I've been curious about for a while. What do you think the budget will be/needs to be/should be? Or, when we finally find out what it is, will it be worth it?

Spider-Man films have always kinda paved the way for blockbuster production budgets. Spider-Man past production budgets:

Spider-Man: $139 million
Spider-Man 2: $200 million
Spider-Man 3: $258 million
Amazing Spider-Man: $230 million
Amazing Spider-Man 2: $_________

My guess is it will be similar to Amazing Spider-Man's $230mil budget. They probably don't want to risk much loss on this sequel and as another poster said, they probably wrapped up failed SM4 costs into ASM's final budget.

yeah considering not much cgi is needed this time around

My guess is that it's similar to TASM. Although they've been shooting in NY and that save them a lot of money, I think the tandem of Electro and Rhino (plus a possible Green Goblin) cuts a lot of the budget.

So, yeah, it's similar or somewhat higher (close to 230 mill $). I have to say that the TASM 1 budget is close to 200 mill $, not 230 mill $, according to some sources.
