I saw Eckhart on Leno last night. It was all right, but like most Leno/Letterman interviews it was pretty soft. Albeit, Leno was giving Echart some crap so maybe there is some bad blood between them. They did all right and I saw the clip, but I think it works better in context than not.

I thought it was funny when Jay mentioned that Michael Caine (who'll be on the show the 11th) is the best talk show guest ever. Then you could just barely hear Eckhart's voice from behind the stage say, "Thanks, Jay!"

Then Jay joked, "well, (you're) almost as good!"

I didn't think it was in the sense of bad blood but just Good natured ribbing.

The clip was good though. That press conference scen plays better when seen in fit's full context.

I can't stand Leno sometimes...but this was one of his more playful interviews and Echart is a pretty standup guy and was charming enough. I love how when Jay said TDK is one of the best movies of the year the audience applauded...its a real indication as to how excited people are for this.

agreed....I've been watching Conan since jr. high and have always hated waiting watching through interviews I really want to see with Leno...he's an idiot and I can't believe he gets away with all his sexist jokes with female guests...its so inappropriate and makes you just shake your head and go "why jay did you just ask her that?" Can't wait til Conan takes overt:

Say what you will about Eckhart - but the guy sure knows how to do the talk shows. Way more than Bale, Oldman or Ledger would have. He's comfortable, relaxed and charming. The only other cast member I would trust on the talk show circuit would be Michael Caine. The others get a bit nervy sometimes.
