You're kidding right Fen? TTT was good but it isn't the Tekken it is now. Tekken 5's evolved so much that its comparable to VF without borrowing so heavily from the original 3D fighting game (unlike say...DOA...). Character analysis:
Lei Wulong
Originally just a basic combo-type character from T2 to TTT. In T5 they made his 5 forms Kung Fu, Drunken Boxing and Play dead stances so seamless it's beautiful, each stance with its own set of moves for the creative player. TTT's Lei was like Lei-lite as compared to T5's.
Hwoarang
Considered just a scrub character and a pale imitation of Baek, Hwoarang's style has evolved to become one of the best looking Tae Kwon Do styles in all fighting game history. If anything, Namco made it HARDER to play a good Hwoarang (I fairly consider myself Good bordering on Average) but in the hands of a great player, Hwoarang's style is undoubtedly the most graceful, flashy in Tekken. He's come a long...long way from just the Machine Gun kicks.
Jin Kazama
He was just a pale and crappy imitation of Kazuya in TTT and T3 but since T4, Jin's style has changed drastically. Lots of guys complained he was rather stiff to play as in T4 but in T5, his Traditional Karate feels a lot more homely and friendly. Plus he's still got Eletric Wind God Fist so it ain't all that bad.
TTT was great for its time but in my opinion T5 and T5: DR are the definative Tekken standards now. They may lack the speed, tacky tag modes or interactive stages of DOA but they bring players down to doing things the old fashion way: moping the floor with your opponent's head in a classic knuckle-duster
