Usually they all say the same thing in Japanese:

'Koi' which means come
'Hayaku!' which means hurry
'Ora ora!' which Joe Higashi keeps screaming
'Ikusei' which I guess could mean let's go

In Tekken its really cool to see the Korean characters actually speaking Korean. One of Hwoarang's victory poses is when he crouches in front of his defeated opponent with a mock smile and says "You're not to fast are you?" in Korean

Street Fighter II and its different incarnations are still better than alot of 3d games. Including Tekken 4 and 5.

Tekken 4 maybe, but not Tekken 5. Tekken 4 was well known for being a bit crap.

That said, I have a biased hatred of 2D games. I just don't enjoy the fight mechanisms.

Either way, on the PS3, I already have Virtua Fighter 5 and Tekken 6, but I'd still buy Dead Or Alive 5, even though it's the least accomplished of the three fighters.

tekken 6 is faaaaar from confirmed for the 360. don't count your chickens before they've hatched.

Like I say Im not assed about Tekken, VF is my fav and that has now been confirmed for my machine. Industry whispers are all saying Tekken6 is headed to 360 tho.

Have you played Tekken? One of the good ones (ie not Tekken 4 pretty much). I find it strange how a fan of fighters couldn't like Tekken. Tekken, Virtua Fighter and Dead or Alive are all very different fighters, but I like them all.

yeah, i never understood the tekken hate, either (probably the same reason for the mgs hate, and final fantasy hate, etc...)

it's easily my favorite fighting franchise. it may not be as "deep" as VF, but it's got better characters, cooler moves and combos, and is all around just a more enjoyable game, in my opinion.

I doubt that Namco Bandai would make T6 a multiplatform title, the economical benefits aside from porting it to other consoles. From the trend NB has been going with Sony strongly from the beginning. The Tales series, Tekken, Ridge Racer...Pac-Man...Since the Playstation. If say Namco Bandai wanted to go multiplatform, wouldn't they have given any indication in the form of Tekken 5: DR which is still a Sony Exclusive even when the 360 could carry it off easy and there is a demand for the game since DOA4 sucks so hard?

Oh yeah, got the Jap version of VF5. Nothing special, its just THE GREATEST 3D FIGHTER I HAVE EVER PLAYED! Must get an arcade controller quick!

Comments:

Zafina looks interesting. A little too similar to Christie in looks, and in terms of style given her moves operate so low, but nice addition. The movement in her arms whihc each move is fantastic. Leo reminds me of Lion from Virtua Fighter a little, though his style appears to be completely different.

Petty point, I don't like the new 'hit' effects. The blue shield affair.

Final point, Bryan fires off a gun at the end of the battle. Huh?

True, it looks a little better, the back ground has more detail. But yeah, the ps3 can do better.

>Sigh< Another chance to introduce a more detailed Silat-type character squandered. Leo really reminds me (for better or for worse) of a cross between DOA's Elliot and VF's Lion. The name itself doesn't really help make a difference between the characters. The detail on the maps/stages really look outstanding to me, if you notice the ceremonial bells on the temple stage you can really see the dragon motiffs on them. Impressive to say the least.

All I can say at this moment that it looks better than DOA4...which isn't saying much since DOA4 wasn't a huge leap from DOA3 in terms of graphics and gameplay. Until we see real in-game footage (in the next few months), this game's gonna be considered hype by Xbots all around until its confirmed for their system. On that note, any solid news of Namco turning Tekken multiplatform?

That and a couple of token brothas terry. We've got Raven, Bruce and Eddie from Tekken (though Eddie is pretty damn strong in terms of storyline from T3), we've got Dennis Rodman/Zack in DOA, we've got Jeffrey in VF. Couple of sistahs too, Christie from Tekken, Vanessa from VF and...whats her name from DOA...? The wrestler chick?

Ah heck. As for metros, DOA takes the prize for having the best looking guys even if you can't really tell them apart aside from hair and eye colour. Tekken's got its fair share of pretty boys too I guess but at least they've got some decent attitude. Hwoarang kinda reminds me of an Asian Chris Jericho

This I agree with. PS2 to PS3 should be a huge leap. What we're seeing so far isn't a massive leap. I can appreciate the ectra levels of detail, but I'm expecting more when it's released.

It looks a lot better than Tekken HD to me. Looks really good (from the screencaps I've seen).

PS3 can do better, true, I don't know how it compares technically to their previous Realtime Tekken 6 footage, but it sure LOOKS a heck of a lot better than what we'd previously seen.

Sure the PS3 is capable of more, but they don't have the sales to justify that kind of budget. Don't forget Namco is also ******ed, so yeah... I think it looks pretty good.
