Tekken 7

so Tekken x SF is dead?? :(
I sensed some said this
New Tekken, huh? My favorite fg series. Good. Good.

Well, Harada tweeted this a few days ago, so I guess there's still some hope for the game.

And to elaborate on this post

Tekken X Street Fighter Is Not Cancelled Says Katsuhiro Harada. July 25, 2014 . 1:00pm

Tekken X Street Fighter is not cancelled, Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada said during a Q&A at Comic-Con.

Tekken X Street Fighter is not cancelled, Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada said during a Q&A following discussion of Tekken 7 at Comic-Con.

The game, Harada said, is still in development and is moving forward, but with all of the other products being created, it needs its own spotlight. It isn’t cancelled, so please relax, Harada emphasized.

Tekken X Street Fighter was originally announced back in 2010, alongside Capcom’s Street Fighter X Tekken. Back in 2011, Harada said to Siliconera that the team had not begun prototyping for Tekken X Street Fighter at that point in time. Then, in 2013, he provided us with a few scant details of the game.

Unlike the latter game, Tekken X Street Fighter is a 3D fighter using the fighting game engine of the Tekken series.

well, that's good. hope to see it soon on the new consoles.

would love for a next-gen Soul Calibur game...........

After the crap they pulled with 4 and especially with 5, I say no thanks. Just give me SC3 HD with GOOD netcode this time, and I'll have all the good memories of that series.

I think this is just the end of the Mishima storyline. So I think that Kazuya and Heihachi might be retired. Maybe.

The games will continue though. I mean this is Namco's cash cow. Do they have any other hits?

Yeah, I don't see Namco stop making games in one of the top 3 fighting game series ever. That would be awful.

I'm a diehard Tekken fan, been that way kinda since the 3rd even though tag was the first one I owned. So, if this games follows suit with tradition, the arcade version is gonna be a Ps4.

And if I am lucky (along with other tekken/ps fanboys) this game is going to be exclusive.

7 already? I think the last one I played was 2 or 3. Which one had Gon in it?
3

She was killed by Ogre in Tekken 3, she was Jin's mother and served to set his arc of revenge.

I wonder if after this they'll pull the Mortal Kombat move of a complete reboot, saleswise they don't realy have much of a problem since they're the best selling fighting game, but their plot has always been incredibly messy to say the least.
You know they said wang & baek were killed by ogre too, and later retconned into them just being attacked and hanging on to life or whatever. even bruce, although I think his original story was that he actually was injured but not killed.

my point with that though is that all those characters returned in tekken 5, i feel honestly just to boost the character roster. and jun's bio was retconned from killed to missing. there's a good bet you'll see her in T7.

soul calibur, ridge racer (i know for some reason people don't like those games but when they're done right i think they are fun), and even dragonballz. remember, namco is not namco anymore, it is bandai namco.

and yeah, the way they're making it seem now is that they are ending tekken, but that easily could NOT be the case.

Revealed on the madcatz TGS stream.

Named 'Catalina'
Playable at the upcoming October location tests.
From Latin America.
'Beginner friendly' character.
Sassy mouthed talker, will be vocal in-game.
Fighting style is Savate.

wow she's sexy.

her knockers are a little on the fake lookin side tho, at least in the CG rendition

So far the character designs we've seen for this game have been pretty terrible if you ask me.

She looks like Christie

That could be intentional. Looks aside, even her attire screams Christie. She's from Latin America, which is where Christie originates from. It wouldn't be the first time sisters were introduced.....

it is definitely possible they are related, but christie they specified is from brazil. catalina could be elsewhere from latin america

damn, she's hotter than christie though

I say she's Cuban. That's the vibe I'm getting.

Why the long coat? Would have looked much better (and more practical" if it ended at his hips.

Having seen some gameplay, I must say that I'm surprisingly unimpressed. I hate that they have implemented Super attacks ala Street Fighter in this series now.

have they announced a full roster yet?

With nearly every fighter I know, character reveals are a source of free marketing and publicity. They reveal one or two here and there to get people to talk about and remember it. If they did it all at once like a year before release (assuming its coming in 2015), that removes a large source of coverage they can trickle out in that meantime

I was really good at Tekken 2. Used to play and sometimes beat 8 guys in team battle at university with Kazuya or Paul. And without using any of those ultra-long combos. I'm probably rubbish now. Big fan though, I love the characters. Hope there is a good story mode.

You mean rather than cross gen? I hope so but I guess it depends when its coming out. Beyond a year or 2 and it better be!

No I mean, all previous major tekken installments ran on playstation technology in the arcades. Tekken 1-3 & tag1 on ps1 hardware, 4-5dr on ps2 hardware, and 6-tag2 on ps3 hardware. So basically if you went to go play tekken in the arcades, you were playing it on playstation.

I meant I was wondering, if on the tekken 7 arcade boards, there's ps4 tech, instead of a regular PC of sorts, since PC is rumored to be lead development platform coz of the unreal engine.

What do you mean by cross gen in this context?

And there's no way it's gonna take 2 years after arcades to come out on console. The only tekken to have done that was 6 and that was a horrible idea on bandai namcos part.
