Action-Adventure Terminator: Dark Fate

Yeah that really should have been at least the 2nd trailer

Kind of hilarious that there’s a very similar version of this scene in the trailer...

I mean, the scene with Rev9 knocking on the door asking for Danny... it just gave me some serious Robert Patrick in T2 Vibes and that felt so goood... probably my favorite part of the entire thing

The action just looks too video gamey. It lacks the grittiness. At this point, I don't think we're ever getting that back, but with that glossy feel, it's just not "Terminator", to me.
Am I the only one who finds dialogue bad ?

Some of it sounds a little forced.

Other people saying "I'll be back" just doesn't have the same effect as Arnold saying it and sounds a little fan-servicey, and I roll my eyes a little at Gabriel Luna's "whole body's a weapon" line. Would a Terminator---at least one without a shred of developing personality like Arnold in T2---care about dropping one-liners like that?

Yeah, some of it sounds unintentionally hilarious.

It never looks like Terminator. T2 made the budget jump, but still felt like the first movie. Ever since, all the movies have crap color grading and action that is suppose to be "bigger" and "better". But instead lost all the visceral impact of the first two movies.

I do like that the Rev-9 doesn't go completely quiet once he starts terminating. I do agree that the big airplane action set piece doesn't feel like it fits, I still am enjoying everything else I am seeing.

Seems to be the norm. I get the complaints with the over abundance of CGI but whats irking me is the silly slo mo. There's no need for it in that car chase scene. Lets all be honest here guys. We won't get the action of T1 and T2 due to TLC, less CGI and practical stunts. It was a sign of the times and won't be captured again. Blockbusters like this film fall in line with your F&F series and Comic book films . As we know the action in these films are over the top and will continue to do so as they set the trend. However one's that stood out to me in the last dew years were Fury Road and the Mission impossible series. They had the perfect blend of CGI meshed with practical effects. It was high level action but grounded at the same time. I guess getting the balance right is quite tough but it seems to me the Filmcrews in the 80's and 90's had more creativity and because computer graphic effects were just about coming into the limelight the practical effects teams took more pleasure in there craft when they took a risk and delivered on film, Just my two cents

THIS. I would almost prefer a retro-grainey feel to it to recapture the HORROR element from the first one (still the best to me). The funny thing is that you can get the Terminator skins in Gears 5, and it's all super-gritty...and a video game. They would have been almost better to go for that over-rendered, less polished look to give it some character.

Still not planning on seeing this until I hear something concrete. I skipped Genisys because they misspelled their own title (yes, I'm sure there is a reason behind the "kewl" spelling...that's not the real reason), it was the reboot of something that didn't NEED rebooting was another thing, and then I heard about the John Conner/Terminator thing, and I just walked. No need to even spend that much money to be angry for 2 hours or so.
