Junkie XL to Score 'Terminator: Dark Fate' (Exclusive)
"It's great to be working on another project with Tim," Holkenborg said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "The original Terminators were such iconic movies, and having James back as a producer with Tim directing is an amazing dream-team. It's going to be a fantastic movie to be part of."
Holkenborg's scoring credits include Mad Max: Fury Road, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Tower, the most recent Tomb Raider movie and Alita: Battle Angel.
We should get some news on Thursday when Paramount's panel at CinemaCon happens. Dark Fate is in their line-up.
Which is what you would've expected for his Alita score, and it turned out to be beige wallpaper. But when Holkenborg gets it right he gets it so very, very right, so let's hope he digs into that warehouse of electronic instruments he has instead of big string sections.I think Junkie is a good choice for Terminator. Something dry, industrial and electronic. Basically like Terminator 1 and 2 soundtracks.
Ehh, I thought it was one of his most indistinct, faceless scores. I was shocked when I saw his name at the end credits. I did not care for Mortal Instruments, but his score for it was sterling. It was propulsive and emotive and so convinced that this movie deserves this music.Ehh, his Alita score was heads-and-shoulders above anything else he's done, maybe Mad Max aside.
