Man this film was a great ride. After being on the fence and having negative thoughts. Im glad they made this . As DarkVengeance said. The crew wanted to honour the Terminator canon and drive it into another direction and i honestly think they succeeded . After the constant tries after T2. They have finally delivered a solid film in the franchise. Some things worked and some things didn't but overall the positives out weigh the negatives. Some of the decisions they made will split audiences and have split critics already from what i have seen.
Im not really a indepth reviewer when it comes to films so hopefully i don't mouth on abit but i do recommend every terminator fan to see it. My general highlights without spoiling anything were Linda Hamilton (great to see her on the bigscreen again) Rev9 was relentless, his theme was great . Arnold showing why he is still got it ( Loved the chemistry between him and Sarah)Pacing didn't feel to bad and managed to keep you engaged in the quieter moments and finally Tim Miller for having the balls to take this on. I had a great time at the cinema and will see again when i get the time. Im a lifelong Terminator fan and its been a mountain to climb since T1 and T2 but Terminator dark fate sits behind but miles infront of T3, Salvation and Genisys.
Oh one thing i didn't like was the 3rd act. It played out like a transformers/marvel mashup but that seems to be the norm with blockbusters these days.
