. Shame they didn’t elaborate on that.

I missed that line then, I was too busy being confused by my original complaint.

I guess that kind of makes it worse though because the older models seem to more aggressive and effective than the newer ones. I would imagine the Rev-9 still can make those tentacles like the 7. If not that seems like a stupid design flaw.

That is not necessarily a sign of low quality.

Screenplay I can understand. But what I find fascinating is that even though there's barely any (new or otherwise) story in the movie, it took five people to write it, including Cameron himself.

Cameron doesn't realise the reception for this film will have a indirect impact on his avatar franchise whether he was involved or not. Alot of folk are calling him a sellout for the decision to THAT character in TDF . I think people have grown tired of his treatment to his own baby and in some ways he has alienated his own personal fans.

I think this franchise has been ****ed over so many times, combined with the fact this movie doesn't really do much new just made people not want to invest in it. There's not much there to make someone go out and see it. I sure as hell didn't. This franchise just exhausted itself. I think this could be it for a long time. Usually I'd say you can't kill a franchise, but this is the fourth time they killed it.

This franchise isn't beyond saving, but I'm so exhausted by it that it's hard to care to at this point.

I enjoyed it. It was entertaining, most of the humor landed and I think the emotional beats mostly worked as well.

The script wasn't that great, I mean, some of the dialogue was a little..off and the third act got a little ridiculous. But, Linda Hamilton and Mackenzie Davis were awesome too.

They did when he came out with that interview about TG but went into damage control when the reception was bad . He's pretty much done the same with this film aswell and has apparently threw Tim Miller under the bus while he moves onto the Avatar films lool At the end of the day James Cameron has been done with this Franchise for decades but now wants to expand on this film and turn it into a trilogy. There's no point now. I personally thought this film was fine but the backlash is worse than i personally thought it would be and understandable of course. I think we are all just fatigued and honestly i don't care for Dani Ramos development and Legion. The Connors were the backbone of the whole story. All the films after T2 are fan fiction and thats how i see it. The Sarah chronicle series i would like to invest in . Not sure where to look to stream, i might have to buy the dvds or something.

Everyone who was in the writers room assembled to map out the trilogy Dark Fate is meant to begin was given story credit on the film. So they contributed ideas for three movies, not just this one.

Man the early box-office numbers for this are not looking good at all. It's performance OS hasn't been too hot either, and if it really does end up underperforming in China than I think we can pretty much call this the final nail in the coffin for the franchise. Granted, I haven't seen the movie yet, but why the hell do they keep spending so much money on these movies? There is no reason why this, Salvation and Genisys should have costed $180-$200M to make.

I get that T2 also had a really huge budget at the time that it came out, but at least that was doing something groundbreaking. Hell even T3's $150M dollar budget seems more reasonable now, and that was considered a lot of money back in the early 2000's as well.

It'd probably be set in the future (in the Future War or even afterwards), but that's what fans have been wanting for ages anyway, Salvation notwithstanding.

The only other thing I could see doing would be a Terminator vs Alien, or vs Predator, type movie.

I couldn't believe how poor and almost comedic Natalia Reyes' acting was. She really was miscast.

Agreed. When the first trailer dropped I thought it was Isabela Moner/Merced (Dora) which would have been a lot better.

Pretty surprised to see Reyes is 32 years old

As much as I would also really like to see a Future War movie done right I can't help, but think that they already shot themselves in the foot with making that aspect appealing after how disappointing Salvation ended up being. I mean that movie even had starpower with Bale as John Connor coming hot off the success of The Dark Knight, and it still ended up bombing. It's possible that Rise of the Machines did more damage to the brand than they imagined, but I'd say that it's even in a worser state now than it was then.

At this point it seems as if only the hardcore fans are showing up, and I don't see that changing with any Vs. movie, especially after how much they have crapped on both the Alien and Predator franchises.

I really, really loved the first act. The initial arrival and chase was quite fun. Good introductions to Grace and the Rev-9. I just really enjoyed it.

I did enjoy Sarah Connor's entrance and her interactions with Grace and Dani. John's fate didn't bother. I do like the idea of other Terminators laying around. It was a concept I liked from SCC, though I doubt they wanted to explore it beyond Carl. Good de-aging tech at least.

Carl was interesting. I do like the concept, and they did acknowledge that he did not develop fully human emotions. Something that would've been fun to explore more in depth.

The final act didn't really bother me as much as it could have. Oddly enough, I kind of preferred the fight on the airplane to the final battle in the damn. I do truly love the Rev9's design. But, some one did not fully think out the lighting situation. The final fight in the damn was hampered by the lighting making the Rev9's gunmetal color more difficult to stand out. Ironically, I think he really would have popped in T2's forge.

I would like to see the trilogy completed.
