Arnold: "Auuhaaauugh!"

Why are we complaining about a trailer? I do not relie on trailer for info on quality and visual of the film. I do it in the damn cinema where I can also throw an imaginary rotten tomato.

There is a current phenomena of keyboard warriors moaning about trailers (Jurassic World, Star Wars, Gotham etc) bordering on unhealthy. My eyes rolled so far back that I see my own brain whenever I read comments on youtube.:o

You're right...the trailer is extremely good. Best one this year.

The trailer was made and released to sell the film, it's ludicrous to say that we shouldn't judge the trailer.

That's literally the reason why trailers exist. What other reason would you possibly have to view one otherwise?

Also, why do I have the feeling that if the trailer was awesome you wouldn't be in here complaining about people gushing over the trailer.

I get what youre saying
But Ive seen other directors step into universe's created by other people with fine results so I would be worried about it if the guy had talent. i mean Cameron jumped into a universe created by Ridley Scott in Alien/Aliens...but then so did David Fincher (Alien 3)

However, if this movies fails then they should just stop I dont know what new direction they could go after this

I guess at some point you've got to start asking whether it's genuinely possible for someone to come into this series and match Cameron's vision. We're now onto our third post-Cameron Terminator film and so far none have felt like a natural progression from T2. Everything post T2 has felt completely artificial, Genisys more so because we're dealing with new timelines set during the original film.

So we're not supposed to judge a trailer? That's the whole purpose of a trailer.

This x100

The most annoying trend on internet boards/comments is how we arent allowed to judge a trailer, pic, etc. just because our opinion of it is negative.

If you're allowed to judge and like it then everyone else can judge and hate it.

How boring if we couldn't judge/discuss a trailer. Or anything related to a movie really. That's part of the geeky fun!!

Yeah, It seems like if you say a movie looks bad then you can't judge it on the trailer. But if you say it looks good that's fine.

A trailer is meant for you to judge. That's the whole purpose.

Besides the new Kyle Reese looking and sounding nowhere near as cool as the original (scrappy, scruffy, damaged badass is now a beefcake jock), this looks interesting and fresh to me. Who knows, maybe it'll suck, but for now I'm looking forward to it.

How many paying audience acutally look at the trailer before deciding to go to the cinema?

It is only a small number of people who saw the trailer and decided to go and see the film. In today's environment the actual marketing push will come closer to the the release date, ie. about a month before with all the TV spots, posters in public places, promotions etc. You also still have a lot of people who just turn up to see whatever fancied them.

Not youtube or any of social media - these are geared toward mainly younger, and ever younger crowd. My next door neighbour has no idea that there is a new trailer, but she knew that a new Terminator film will be coming out. And she does NOT care for trailers on net when deciding to go to the cinema with her family/husband.

Honestly, Jason Clarke probably is too, but he doesn't look too special in the trailer either.

I'm afraid Emilia Clarke is just gonna come off like a little girl playing dress-up and trying to act tough, and NOTHING has done anything to make me feel Jai Courtney is anything other than disastrously miscast as Kyle Reese. He looks like a generic dumb meathead. Do the filmmakers know anything about Kyle Reese?

My reaction to the trailer: :woo

Jason seems good in the role, but Emilia and Jai are completely miscast indeed. This is one of those movies I'll give the online treatment. :oldrazz:

So, instead of Boomerang, we got Captain Meathead!

I think Ayer has our permission to kill him off in the Suicide Squad. :hehe:

A lot

This film actually looks cheap to some of you?

As I said though: they get pretty shakey talent involved
Jonathan Mostow hasnt made any good movies. McG has made maybe one good movie. Alan Taylor has one, imo, mediocre movie

It's like they're trying to get a bunch of 3 foot guys to try and dunk a ball, instead of getting a 7 foot/Shaq type guy.

Weird ass analogy, but my point is there. If you get medium talent they're probably not going to reach the heights set by Cameron or whoever.

I think a future war prequel/sequel series couldve been a natural progression but they f***ed it up. I dont even think the idea of Rise of the Machines was bad either, it was just handled poorly.

Nothing wrong with critiquing a trailer. But it's ridiculous to sum up a movie as a whole based on a trailer. Doesn't matter if you're positive or negative about it. So many great movies have crappy marketing and so many crappy movies have great marketing.

I liked what I saw personally, but I'll have to see the film to make an honest judgement.

I think it's also a case of franchising a series of films that was never meant to be franchised, at the very least without its creator. Cameron really needs to be the one driving Terminator, but he's long since moved on from it.

new still

I'm sorry, but lmaoooo

this promo team should be fired. Jai looks like he just smelled a fart and Emilia looks like a 13 year old girl, not just in the still, but in the trailer too.

it's embarrassing not only because she should be a trained fighter/assassin or what not since childhood, but because the character she is playing looked like this in the original:

trailer looks generic, as expected.

I'm honestly puzzled why so many are hating on this trailer. It was much better than I expected. Yeah, the actors playing Sarah and Kyle aren't who I'd choose, but this is pretty good fan-service. I'm psyched it's going back to the 1984 setting.

After that trailer, this movie can go to Hell.

That's not really fair, is it? Since your Judgement Day Sarah Conner is from the early 90's a full decade older than the 1984 Sarah was.
