Arnold: "Auuhaaauugh!"
Why are we complaining about a trailer? I do not relie on trailer for info on quality and visual of the film. I do it in the damn cinema where I can also throw an imaginary rotten tomato.
There is a current phenomena of keyboard warriors moaning about trailers (Jurassic World, Star Wars, Gotham etc) bordering on unhealthy. My eyes rolled so far back that I see my own brain whenever I read comments on youtube.![]()
The trailer was made and released to sell the film, it's ludicrous to say that we shouldn't judge the trailer.

I get what youre saying
But Ive seen other directors step into universe's created by other people with fine results so I would be worried about it if the guy had talent. i mean Cameron jumped into a universe created by Ridley Scott in Alien/Aliens...but then so did David Fincher (Alien 3)
However, if this movies fails then they should just stop I dont know what new direction they could go after this

So we're not supposed to judge a trailer? That's the whole purpose of a trailer.
How many paying audience acutally look at the trailer before deciding to go to the cinema? The trailer was made and released to sell the film, it's ludicrous to say that we shouldn't judge the trailer.
Honestly, Jason Clarke probably is too, but he doesn't look too special in the trailer either.
I'm afraid Emilia Clarke is just gonna come off like a little girl playing dress-up and trying to act tough, and NOTHING has done anything to make me feel Jai Courtney is anything other than disastrously miscast as Kyle Reese. He looks like a generic dumb meathead. Do the filmmakers know anything about Kyle Reese?

It is only a small number of people who saw the trailer and decided to go and see the film. In today's environment the actual marketing push will come closer to the the release date, ie. about a month before with all the TV spots, posters in public places, promotions etc. You also still have a lot of people who just turn up to see whatever fancied them.
Not youtube or any of social media - these are geared toward mainly younger, and ever younger crowd. My next door neighbour has no idea that there is a new trailer, but she knew that a new Terminator film will be coming out. And she does NOT care for trailers on net when deciding to go to the cinema with her family/husband.
I guess at some point you've got to start asking whether it's genuinely possible for someone to come into this series and match Cameron's vision. We're now onto our third post-Cameron Terminator film and so far none have felt like a natural progression from T2. Everything post T2 has felt completely artificial, Genisys more so because we're dealing with new timelines set during the original film.
As I said though: they get pretty shakey talent involved
Jonathan Mostow hasnt made any good movies. McG has made maybe one good movie. Alan Taylor has one, imo, mediocre movie
It's like they're trying to get a bunch of 3 foot guys to try and dunk a ball, instead of getting a 7 foot/Shaq type guy.
Weird ass analogy, but my point is there. If you get medium talent they're probably not going to reach the heights set by Cameron or whoever.
I think a future war prequel/sequel series couldve been a natural progression but they f***ed it up. I dont even think the idea of Rise of the Machines was bad either, it was just handled poorly.
new still

I'm sorry, but lmaoooo
this promo team should be fired. Jai looks like he just smelled a fart and Emilia looks like a 13 year old girl, not just in the still, but in the trailer too.
it's embarrassing not only because she should be a trained fighter/assassin or what not since childhood, but because the character she is playing looked like this in the original:

trailer looks generic, as expected.
