Terminator: Genisys - Part 3

The chase element is back in the mix, but I hate so much of what I see in this trailer.

I could nitpick every shot in this trailer and drive myself insane. A CG endoskeleton aiming down the sights of his weapon? And that's just for starters. smh

LOL can't believe that didn't register to me the first time, then i looked again i thought ' how un-terminator that is ' you pretty much described how i felt especially the nitpicking thing.

At the end of the day if this is a good film then whoever cut that trailer needs to be fired.

I feel the same type of disgust for this film as I felt for The Amazing Spider-Man franchise. Almost everything I heard about those films I disliked, then I disliked the trailers and I ended up disliking the films as well. Hopefully this is another Rise of the Planet of the Apes situation instead. Hopefully the next trailer makes it look like a real film.

Anyone else just realise two Game of Thrones actresses have played Sarah Connor? #mindblown

Oh, you're one of those lol.
One of who?

I was actually among the cinema audience in 1984, no one talked about Cameron, they all talked about The Terminator, i.e. Arnold, who was at the peak of popularity with muscled action men filling up the box office. Even the second Terminator was all about, you guess it Robert Patrick's T-1000. They didn't care that it was James Cameron. It only came later. At that time it was mostly Speilberg and Lucas being the directors that most people were familiar with.

It is hard to take seriously anything where a person is using one hand to fire a deagle, much less little Emilia Clarke.

It just looks so bad and so annoying. The clear mining of the original films for the "best ideas", while wiping them out of existence. Who thought that was a good idea? The future looks like it is from a different, boring, modern sci-fi and the past stuff looks goofy as hell. Clarke is so cute, but looks so out of place.

All that being said, Arnie still has it.

My brother is usually really mellow, so he doesn't really get mad about stuff like this. He can't stop talking about how useless this trailer is. I might need to stay off the internet and my phone for awhile because of this.

Anyone who can sit through Terminator, Judgment Day and Aliens, and with a straight face say their quality has nothing to do with Cameron is "one of those".

Titanic and Avatar didn't sell on their own. They may not be my favorite films, but people flocked to them because of Cameron. And Cameron established that name in the 80s and early 90s making these films.

David is still involved however I believe. Skydance produced this didn't they?

Yes, David is producing this. Originally Annapurna, Skydance, and Paramount were going to contribute a 1/3 of the budget each -- but when Megan pulled out, pretty sure it went to 50% between Par and Skydance.

Megan still has her name on it, even in a passive sense.

Was that a ripoff of the TDK semi flip shot? It certainly reminded me of that.

This looks like disposable, trashy fun, just like Thor 2 ended up being. Congratulations Alan Taylor, you're on a roll! :o

P.S. I will definitely watch this movie for the nekkid Jai Courtney scenes. Yum.

I didn't even think about that, but you are so right. Very TDW. Not good. :csad:

Yeah, Arnold was the original selling point, who WOULD be talking about a relatively unproven fledgling director sitting in the seats during his first big release? It took him raising the bar continuously.

Cameron is successful because he is passionate, and has worked well with teams to realize his visions.

and what darthskywalker said.

Meh. This looks like the only ideas they really had were riffing off what's already been done. I'll see it... eventually... but will not be in a hurry and will not be expecting anything better than T3.

And whoever thought Captain Meathead was a suitable replacement for Michael Biehn should be beaten with a club and left bleeding in the moonlight.

It is so true. I can't wait to see their power points for this movie. They probably rival Sony's.

After going back and watching the trailer again I'm changing my opinion to this looks like crap. Why on earth would someone want to pretend that the 1st never happen and even incorporate that into the story? If anything pull a days of future past and make the 3rd and salvation never happen. Jai Courtney is a poor mans Sam worthington and thats saying something.

I think a lot of people's first reaction is, "well, it looks better then I thought it would".

I'm sticking with the first reaction I had while watching it. It doesn't look great, but I don't think it looks AWFUL either.

Yeah but after salvation im very skeptical and that movie had great trailers and bale going for it. I couldn't stop laughing at how over the top the scar was on Connor too, looked like Freddy Krueger got a hold of him. Side note too i always imagined that when Reece goes back in time that it was a last minute move by him and he just kind of did it, this looks like some huge ceremony and silly.

So I'm confused, how is Arnie in this movie? Seemed like he was playing a Terminator that got really old, but machines aren't supposed to age....just seems really weird and I don't get it. I hope there's some plausible explanation.

Best part of the trailer had to be the T-1000 on the hood of the police car morphing back to human form—not the CG which was horrifically bad, just the way that looked in general, was pretty dang cool.

And I can't believe that CG on a more than 20-year-old movie (T2) looks better than the CG on a 2014 trailer....

So apparently in the ending...

Arnold survives the explosion and becomes liquid metal man? by walking in some t1000 factory goo

lol

The story is that the Terminators have human tissue and the human tissue ages.

...this just looks bad. I mean, like parody bad. Wow.

Salvation may have been a disappointment, but the early stuff looked promising.

This just looks generic, unfortunately. Who is playing the T-1000 in this one? They should have brought Robert Patrick back.
