On a somewhat unrelated note....
I'm actually looking forward to this more than Terminator Genisys.
How does 1992 technology look better than 2015 Photoshop, when melding a ex-skeleton and Arnie's faces?
He's dating Sarah Connor/Khalessi at the moment, not hard to figure out why.
Lorne Balfe has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming sci-fi action movie Terminator Genisys. Hans Zimmer will serve as the executive music producer according to the films new international poster. Balfe is taking over from composer Christophe Beck who was originally attached to score the film.
Nice to hear this might actually surprise people and be decent, but I can't help but remain uber-skeptical on this one.
I think with someone like Arnold it comes down to charisma and likability. He's a very limited actor, and so he plays on his strengths. I can only speak for myself and from what I know friends have said on the topic, but most of us like Arnold because he has a strong screen presence. His usage of comedy in the 80's to make his action movies stick out was also clever, and it often made you root for him. He's the cool actionhero who shoots down 20 people and then says a corny catchphrase.
When you look at names like Worthington or Courtney, they don't have that "flare" that Arnold has. They just come off as wooden and very limited. It's a quality in itself for an actor to get you to like them, whether they are great actors or not. So being good or bad is not just a matter of how big your range is, but how likable you are. Arnold has basically achieved mega superstar status despite not being a great actor, and you'll never see actors like Worthington or Courtney get anywhere close to that.
Tim Ferriss just had an amazing interview with Arnold on his podcast in late January. Hearing him tell his life story it's no surprise why he took over Hollywood so quickly while also eventually successfully entering into politics.
Have you read Arnie's book? It's a brilliant read. He's a clever and hugely, hugely ambitious guy who knows how to play on his strengths completely. He was practically a millionaire before he even ventured into acting, after coming to American with virtually nothing and not really able to speak English very well.
You'll enjoy it. He's never going to be an oscar-winner in terms of acting ability, but his success in Hollywood fully embodies his general progress in life - he seems to be successful at anything he put his mind to.
