Terminator: Genisys - Part 5

it is dumb for the world that they created over 4 movies.

i didnt writte in my post that its the dumbest thing. the only reason the skin on terminator ages is becaue Arnold in 2015 looks old.

I don't think it's bad and actually makes sense. In T2 it's stated that the skin on a Terminator will heal, so it's not a huge leap to suggest it can also age for me. The skin is organic living tissue as also stated in T1. Living things age.

Yep. As far as concoctions to facilitate Arnold's returns go, this one was as good as it was going to get.

This board is ridiculous, are people actually WANTING this film to be bad? so they can proudly state "i told you so" on the internet? This film could be mad max level good and they same people will still delude themselves into thinking this film is horrible. What a joke, same people mind you that will go off to their own corners of whatever cbm they champion and defend it to the death (no matter how bad it looks) before it gets released. The hypocrisy is hilarious. :funny:

I don't think that's what's happening at all. It's not that we want it to be bad, it's that everything we've seen from it has been bad.

We'd all ****ing love a Terminator entry we can get behind.

I'd love to be proven wrong on this, but everything that I've seen so far looks ridiculous and way too complicated for it's own good.

Casting is off, the effects look cheap and the story (from what we've heard) sounds all confusing and just awful.

I just saw the trailer.... Ew. They just made a terrible gag... "Come with me if you want to live" ..... It's like they're trying to be hip...

Why would anyone want this film to be bad? So the Terminator rights can go back to Marvel or something? :o

There are some questionable decisions with the writing, but the casting is stellar. If there is a case of horrible casting, it was T3. The only good calls were Arnold and Dr. Silverman.

I'm confused by this post.:csad:

Well he obviously thinks that the film looks great, which is fine, so he lashed out at those who don't think it looks great. I get it, I lash out all the time. I agree that a lot of Marvel fans are hoping Fantastic Four is bad because they want the rights to go back to back to Marvel but I don't agree that Terminator fans want three lackluster films in a row.

Terminator Genesis being bad and presumably failing at the box office just harms the brand more, what self respecting Terminator fan would want the brand hurt more than it has been?

I was actually really optimistic about this film back when it was early in pre-production. I'm pretty sure there are posts a long while ago where I commented that this was heading in the right direction. This was before even a single image was released, mind you.

Oh, how I was so, so, so wrong.

I haven't been on the Fantastic Four forums but fans are thinking and hoping the new movie is bad? I've liked everything we've seen but I'm no huge fan.

Wait, didn't I just watch them fight silver robots controlled by an AI trying to destroy humanity? :o

Same here, I even liked the first trailer but since then it has been downhill. I still have some hope that it will be good, and there are aspects I still like the look of, but overall it's not looking amazing at the moment.

Exactly. None of us want it to be bad, but it looks bad. Theres no getting around that fact.

At this point, might as well get a good laugh out of this whole thing.

Why would anyone want the movie to be bad. After the last two lackluster entries in the franchise, I had hopes that it might stand a half way decent chance of being good.

Incredibly this one looks like the weakest one yet.

I'll go see this movie. No doubt about that. Even how "dumb" the trailers or tv-spots make it look. Come on, Arnold is back in a Terminator movie. How can THAT be a bad thing?

The studio isn't doing a great job with these clips and trailers we are getting. Got the feeling they leave things out and rearrange certains scenes to confuse the viewers. We'll see how this one turns out. Nothing can top T1 and T2 though ... that's for sure. Movie-goers these days have such high expectations that they forget to just sit down and enjoy themselves.

The bad stuff I'm seeing from this thing is script and casting related.
And it's hard to have high expectations when something looks this bad.

I think the biggest problem is this film can't decide what it wants to be. Its clear they wanted to reboot the franchise and remake T:1, but they felt fans would be put off by that, so they decided to soft-reboot it with time travel a la Star Trek 2009. But they also wanted to make a sequel in which there's an even bigger and badder terminator model, so to speak, which is impersonating(?) or has taken over John. So this movie is a remake, soft reboot, and a sequel all at once. And it doesn't appear to be doing any of those things well.
