This is the best description I've seen of Jai Courtney:

Jai Courtney is a disaster as Kyle Reese; he’s wrong in every way, having none of the weary soldier qualities that Michael Biehn brought to the role. Courtney is the new Sam Worthington, who was the new Gretchen Mol, who was the new person whose name I forget because these are forgettable actors foisted upon us by the weird Hollywood hive mind. There are make-up techniques designed to baffle facial recognition software and Jai Courtney seems to have been designed with that in mind - he’s an actor who passes through your brain like a fart in a wind tunnel. Just poof, gone.

:lmao:

Those of you praying for a new Conan movie with Arnold better pray this movie doesn't absolutely bomb.

Very true.

Despite being announced in 2012, "Legend of Conan" still has no director, release date or formal green light.

In this video, featuring the transition of Conan and Robert E Howard rights from Paradox Entertainment to Cabinet Holdings, the reasons for the hold-up with “Legend of Conan” are also covered.

To summarize, the lawsuit from Stan Lee Media caused Universal to put things on hold for years, and now they may have gotten cold feet after seeing every single Schwarzenegger vehicle since "Legend of Conan" was announced either underperform or outright bomb.

Some speculate that the boxoffice performance of "Terminator Genisys" will indeed decide Conan's fate on film.

The critics have not been kind to Courtney and E.Clarke. I've recently watched Courtney in some aussie film on Netflix called Felony. I didn't think much of Courtney one way or the other honestly. My suspicion is, "not a leading man."

This movie sucked. I cant think of a single cool moment in it. The bus flipping was even more ridiculous than it looked in the preview. Sarah and Kyle are butchered. The T800 doesnt do anything. The T3000 is less intimidating than the T1000(T2). Far too many ****** attempts at humor. Its everything I expected and more.

If Andy Whitfield didn't die, there wouldn't be a Jai Courtney.

I wasn't a fan of Spartacus but Courtney wasn't the one who replaces Whitfield right? Didn't Courtney play a different character?

So how does that make sense?

Courtney co-starred with Andy in the first season. Andy was great in Spartacus and would've been up for similar roles as Jai like in this movie.

You are correct. Jai Courtney played Spartacus's friend, Varro, who Spartacus was forced to kill in season one.

Liam McIntyre replaced Andy as Spartacus after Andy passed away.

We have no way of knowing this so it's pointless to say this. Besides, Andy could have done a lot better than this piece of **** film.

Exactly.

I don't even know why bring that up

I just watched a bunch of clips of T2 on youtube... such a dramatic difference in quality and tone.

T2 is just a masterpiece compared to whats out today. Craftsmen ship and care from cameron and attention to detail with great characters and story all added up. This new red headed movie looks lazy and has smiling terminators.

To those who have seen the movie... does Emilia Clarke blink rapidly while firing her gun in the final cut?

the blinking is the last thing you should be concerned about when it comes to her performance

Can you imagine if other 80s thriller movie villains went the way of The Terminator. hah

Maybe.

Anyway Jai probably has a great agent, a no fuss actor who works well with everyone on set, and has a low asking price which is why he keeps getting hired for now.

*cough* Mad Max: Fury Road *cough*

The one thing I'll give this movie is that the CG young Arnold looked pretty convincing.

It also convinced me... that's where all the budget went... :p

I kinda feel bad for Arnold. I mean, he got paid a truckload. But since his comeback, he hasn't been in any movies that have connected with audiences. I thought he was good in Escape Plan and Sabotage but no one saw those either.

Fury Road is really an exception in a comparison like this. It's probably the best action film since The Matrix, and that one was the best action film since T2 when it came out, so you have maybe 1 action film every 6-7 years that truly stands out and becomes a hit. There's so much mediocre action these days, Genisys really isn't worse than most of it.
