Plus....I think fans are liking the movie...its just a few vocal people that don't. I mean for example...just look at this poll. Personally I don't think these people bashing this film because of Bale. I don't think they even understand who John Connor is. He's exactly like how Sarah Connor was in T2.....but do they bash Sarah in that movie...no. They still want the little kid Connor or something.

Same here and when he did it was in the right moment, people are overreacting wayyyyyyy too much
Do you guys just gloss over other posts? I know there were at least 3 replies addressing this very topic yesterday. Including mines.

No ones bashing Bale, he is a terrific actor but he is capable of better then he did in either BB,TDK or TS he was so good in American Psycho (oscar worthy performance imo) and the machinist but it seems (to me) the biggeer the blockbuster the more prediictable brooding perfomance he brings to the table.

That is EXACTLY why he should play the next bond villain and be all insane like Patrick Bateman...

The Cameron Terminators were fun, and very cool, but incredibly cheesy.

They were nothing even approaching top notch, well written dramas.

WHAT!!

of course your entitles to your opinion but you are crazy imo.

Dont tell, me you wanted Nolan to direct TS:whatever:.

Camerons T2 is a true masterpiece of the Sci-Fi gene.

Nolan's Inception will blow T2 out of the water....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! MAN I'M GOOD!

Dont tell, me you wanted Nolan to direct TS:whatever:.

Can you go one post where you don't critcize Nolan? Even in a Terminator thread of all places!

It's a miracle you manage to get around carrying a chip that big on your shoulder.

It may well be a masterpiece. It's also incredibly cheesy. So is the first movie.

When did I say a word about Nolan?

People are getting a little hostile here in these TS threads.

It's just a shame. We all bought into it, and some of us here are disapointed. I think that's why everyone's going a little *Kramer*

"So that's what death tastes like." I'm still trying to decide if this line is terrible or not. The delivery was almost laughable, but I'm on the fence as to whether it's jsut bad.

"You can write this, but you can't say this ****."

You didn't, but I think this guy has some sort of reputation for being anti-Nolan to the point of absurdity, so you probably shouldn't sweat it. :o

I get kinda of sick of some people who are annoyed by Nolan and hate him for his popularity. He's popular for a good reason. He's a fantastic director. I get tired of hearing his name sometimes because we used his name all the time for TDK and hearing it and such, but he's damn good at his job.

I am impressed that people have the balls to bash Bale & here of all places. Surely they had ot know that the Bat Fans would be out in full force :hehe:

Just because he was good as Batman doesn't mean he would be good in this. :p

I give the movie..a 7.

Honestly, Terminator Salvation isn't a bad movie at all. I think the critics were toooo harsh on it.

Is it as good as the first two? No. Better than part 3...yes and no.

I think T3 had more character arcs than TS by far. I really wanted McG to dive into the mind of Bale's John Connor but we never got that. And I wish that Marcus had more of a personality. Oh, and I HATED Helena Bordom Carter's performance. Talk about overacting. What happended to the Helena ala Fight Club, when she was awesome?

I also didn't like the part when Connor jumps into the huge tidal wave, and BAM, he's in the sub. I couldn't stop laughing.

Anyway, I enjoyed it. There's zero plot but it doesn't taint the series as a whole.

They were cheesy but in a warm and charming way. Cheesy can be good too, I think. T3 was cheesy for the wrong reasons though.

Saw it last night. Wow I was so unexcited and unwowed by everything in this movie. Even the opening credites were boring with odd music and 2 titles repeated "a MCG FILM" and TERMINATOR SALVATION". Both repeated?
Bale was so weird, his voice changing the whole time. Its like he didn't know how to portray the character. The only thing I liked was Kyle Reese and Marcus. I was really disappointed by the ending. I thought Skynet was kind of cheap, I thought the car chases were just a cheap imitation of Road Warrior all the way down to marcus saying "Get Out" to the little mute girl sitting in his car JUST LIKE Mel Gibson said to the mute wild child.
No tension, no excitement, baron wasteland no interesting tanks cyborgs. I did llike the T-800 after the arnie cameo. I liked how they gave it a mechanic growl and loved how it moved.
Perhaps James Cameron just set the bar so high it's would be hard for anyone to compete. But as a stand alone movie I would have to say its quite weak. Star Trek wasn't perfect, but it was a DAMN exciting experiance.
Thats just me, don't get mad.
5/10

Says the person who thinks THE TERMINATOR is a "well written drama".

says the person who just saw the terminator for the first time this week.

and i never said it was a "well written drama" and dont presume to know what i think.

i think its a well written sci fi actioner in the guise of a horror film with a suprising amount of dramatic heft for its genre. :whatever: and im in the majority so...

of course i think i james camaron has matured as a screen writer since but i still dont think the terminator was poorly written at all.

To be honest, the movie went through hell in terms of production. Halcyon filed a lawsuit, forced the T3 writers on them, McG had a tough time convincing Nolan and Bale

I think this movie could have come a few months later after some polishing...

And the fact that I've seen it once has what to do with whether I believe it's well written or not?

If you don't want me to assume what you think, don't make value-driven direct responses to what I say that prevent me from doing anything other than making assumptions.

Let's recap, shall we?

I said:

Now when you say something vague yet obviously judgmental back like "shut the window because your credibilty just flew out of it" is response to my statement, what else am I to assume other than that you believe that the movies are not fun and not cool, and not cheesy, and that they were in fact, something approaching top notch, well written dramas?

Well, thank you for clarifying. It was, you understand, a bit difficult to glean that from the snide remark you made.

Why would the Terminator fans want to hate a Terminator movie? I'd think my fellow fans would want to love the movie. Nobody seems to be dis-missing your opinion, they are just stating theirs. I'm glad you loved it and I hope I love it as much as you did.

Exactaly I'm not saying people that liked it are wrong in what they think, I just did not care for it.

What fan in their right might would WANT a product of their beloved franchise to fail? C'mon now. Unless they have very good reasons to believe it's a disaster, that just doesn't happen.

I bought into the hype, I wanted this movie to be good very much, but it just didn't click at all.

Agreed, I felt the same way. It sounded all good on paper, it just did not click with me.

fair enough and point taken. to be fair when i made my statement i was including the comments you made regarding the film in the other thread. i still feel you are a bit off the mark there.

and my intention was not to be snide. thats why i included the stupid little eye roll face. no insult was intended.
