People like to complain about the American audience seeing lame or crappy movies all of the time but I'd say that the international audience is just as guilty. We see MallCop to the tune of 140mil and they see Angels and Demons to the tune of 350mil plus. Star Trek is looking to pull in about 240mil here and 120+mil overseas while Salvation is bombing here and should make 300+mil overseas.

Bad or mediocre taste is international! Thats what I've learned.

You speak truth, my friend.

I watched this film over the weekend...man, what a huge disappointment. I rate it a 2/10. It didn't seem like a Terminator movie at all. :down

You're not alone. I don't think McG should be allowed to direct another movie...ever.

I was only asking because I thought if TSCC had failed abroad it would be a sign that Terminator interest had declined everywhere, but I see TS had strong overseas numbers so the popularity is still there.

How the heck is 25.4 mill strong numbers? It did worse overseas then it did here. And just to give you an idea of how bad it did overseas, T3 made $283,000,000 overseas. T3 made more than 10x as much as TS...but just by a hair.

So what is the WW box office for this? I thought it would be one of the big earners this year. Obviously I was gravely mistaken :D I hold my hands up!

^No, internationally. Domestically it's like $105 million, so WW it's about $202 million.

Ahhhh I see. Well that isn't too bad. Should of been better though. But I think this year is just packed to the rafters with films a lot of people will want to watch, so I don't think there will be any mega earners this year, apart from Transformers or HP. But even them films won't make MEGA money I don't think.

Yeah, $200 million worldwide isn't a flop, but it's definitely a disappointment, especially what WB had in mind, with a whole new trilogy and whatnot. If you ask me, this should've been held back a month or two. May had ST, Wolverine, A&D, and NATM2. I think it would've done better in August against GI Joe and Inglorious Basterds.

Yea a end of summer or winter release would of suited this film better I reckon.

Were the other Terminator's mid summer blockbusters? Can't remember now.

HALCYON! HALCYON! What The Halcyon Company had in mind!

agreed

GI Joe looks like crap and I have no clue what Inglorious Basterds is so i doubt that will do well.

there's virtually no competition that month, should've waited

Inglorious Basterds is the new Tarantino film about Jewish soldiers causing mayhem in Nazi Germany starring Brad Pitt.

I don't think it would be wise to go up against that either to be honest.

Yeah but TS and Inglorious Basterds are for totally different crowds. Basterds will be 18-rated, while they've made TS for a younger generation than T1 and even T2 was. I don't see Basterds doing particularly well but who knows really. For a start the trailer makes the film look like a piece of crap, while the TS trailer made it look like friggin Citizen Kane!

Holding it back until the end of time wouldn't have kept it from sucking. And that's what killed it. I was planning on seeing it two or three times, taking my wife, and suggesting it to everyone I know. I saw it once, haven't taken my wife, and tell everyone to stay away. Even people that where planning on seeing got talked out of it by me. Word of mouth is key to movies doing well.

^Woah, dude, cool your jets. I'm sorry you didn't like it, but stop making such a big deal out of it. You're the not the first one to be disappointed by a movie.

Yea man, take a toke from da reefer or something. It's a movie man, not the end of the world. And why talk people out of going to see it? Not everyone has the same opinions, some of your friends or your wife might of liked it, you should let them decide for themselves.

Yeah I never understood why anyone would try to talk someone out of seeing a movie despite if its crappy or not. Personally if I don't like a movie I tell people "Man that movie really sucked, go check it out so you can see how bad it is" or "let me know what you think."

I listen to people with my same tastes. If they say the movie was terrible and not to waste my time and money then I will wait to see it. Land of the Lost was terrible, I will tell you not to waste your time and money on it:o I wouldn't say go see it and let me know what you think because it is that bad.

Same. I don't listen to critics or something normally, but if someone like my brother saw the movie and said negative things about it, I'll often listen to him cause we have similar tastes regarding entertainment. However, if one of my better friends said this was good or sucked, I'll often disregard it cause he likes a bunch of things I hate and dislikes some movies I like.

I have 2 or 3 critics that I usually agree with and I listen to them. If I really badly want to see a movie then I will go regardless of what anyone says but I keep in mind their critiques so that I don't go in and just mindlessly google over Baysplosions or Jackmanverine.
