I'm too lazy to investigate critics to see if their opinions mesh with mine

Holding it back until the end of time wouldn't have kept it from sucking. And that's what killed it. I was planning on seeing it two or three times, taking my wife, and suggesting it to everyone I know. I saw it once, haven't taken my wife, and tell everyone to stay away. Even people that where planning on seeing got talked out of it by me. Word of mouth is key to movies doing well.
Yeah I never understood why anyone would try to talk someone out of seeing a movie despite if its crappy or not. Personally if I don't like a movie I tell people "Man that movie really sucked, go check it out so you can see how bad it is" or "let me know what you think."
Last time I checked, no one has gone to anybody's house and tied them up so they couldn't see a movie.

Yeah, $200 million worldwide isn't a flop, but it's definitely a disappointment, especially what WB had in mind, with a whole new trilogy and whatnot. If you ask me, this should've been held back a month or two. May had ST, Wolverine, A&D, and NATM2. I think it would've done better in August against GI Joe and Inglorious Basterds.
Exactly what I said to a friend. T1 and T2 were good movies because they had action and made you think. T3 was just mindless action and so was T4. This is why I was dissapointed by this and Wolverine. Two franchises that once made good movies with many undertones and great characters and they drove both franchises into the ground. T4 only was a bit better because it looked way better and had better action. But, they both are dumb popcorn flicks. Transformers 2, which is meant to be a popcorn flick, will blow both of these out of the water.

By many flaws you mean it sucked ass.^thats how i felt about spider-man 3 . i was really hyped up for that movie and tried to defend what i saw . yeah spideman 3 has good parts but also many flaws.

.
Remember John Connor, being told to become that great tactical military leader...? Well, the first thing he tells Marcus, of who he thinks is an enemy, are the names of this father and mother. Well, good work general. Why not tell everybody your deepest secrets and screw up tactically by putting your parents in danger? Remember in T1, in which Kyle told Sarah that Skynet didn't know much because all records were lost? Well, if I were Skynet I wouldn't worry too much because John Connor will most likely scream out all his secrets to everybody.

what makes it even funnier is when we find out that Marcus has been "synced" up to SKYNET this whole time. God this movie sucked.I watched this film over the weekend...man, what a huge disappointment. I rate it a 2/10. It didn't seem like a Terminator movie at all.![]()

I would say that if you force someone to not see a movie, then yeah...you have problems. Last time I checked, no one has gone to anybody's house and tied them up so they couldn't see a movie.

PRO's
+ Some nice action.
+ I loved to see Cyberdyne return. However I missed some explanation how in 2003 Serena comes with a paper owned by Cyberdyne while in 2003 Cyberdyne was already taken over (or continued) by the miltary (CRS).
+ The T-RIP imitating Kyle's voice. Very smart, I loved it!!
+ I liked the way how John Connor got his famous scar. That was really a nice touch (get the pun ). It's not the way I would have imagined it (I had expected some bloodsoaking wound from a brutal battle against a Terminator), but I enjoyed the moment.
CON's
- Lack of story and explanation. It also lacked the connection to the previous movie storywise.
- The TermoVision of the "older" models (T-600, Aerostat, MotoTerminator, Harvester). It doesn't look advanced or something that can be created by an super intelligent system like Skynet.
- What's with the T-700? It is shown as collectible, but in the movie we don't see it. Or we see it but John Connor tells us they are T-800 units. It's confusing...
- The lack of T-600 action. They praised a lot by McG but all the T-600's action were already shown in the trailers. So no new T-600 action too bad.
- When the Harvester or the T-600 move, they make a lot of noise (rusty parts). But when they sneak upon behind someone, we don't hear them all. Unbelievable.
- The heart transplantation, just a weak story element in my opinion. And definitely not something that can be carried out by a used-to-be-vet-now-self-proclaimed-doctor in a windy army tent.
- a talking Skynet head, just stupid. However I understand for the "normal" audience that it's necessary to have something to look at when Skynet "talks" and completely tells everything to Marcus.
- Skynet knowing about Kyle Reese (and even John Connor at some degree).
- How can the resistance have such an open bases? I mean doesn't Skynet patrol the area sor so? The tents in the dessert, just duck shooting.
- I didn't care for the characters. I could not connect to them and they appeared as hollow figures. I wouldn't feel sorry if they would have died or not.
- Where in the future war world, where everything has been destroyed, do they all get leather clothing?
- I got the feeling that the writers don't even know the Terminator mythology and lore that good. What is missing is the love from the creators.
- Kyle Reese naming every Terminator. "MotoTerminator! Aerostat! T-600." How the hell does he even know their official names?
- Skynet knowing what Kyle Reese looks like. I mean, the Aerostat scans Kyle Reese and identifies him as Kyle Reese. How does Skynet know that this person is Kyle Reese? Where does it have the info and how did it even get it?
The war between dumb and dumberer
Seriously. If I were living in that future, I wouldn't know who to follow. Both John Connor and Skynet are apparently not the smartest beings.

Well, if I were Skynet I wouldn't worry too much because John Connor will most likely scream out all his secrets to everybody.
However, Skynet is also dumb. Even more stupid than John Connor. First of all, Skynet had at least 3 amazing chances of killing John Connor. Somehow, Skynet knows John Connor is important and he and his father Kyle are the top on Skynet's hitlist. In the movie there were 3 opportunities to kill John Connor:
1) the T-600 that sneaks up behind Connor after his chopper crashed. Instead of simply ripping out his heart it only taps his shoulder and throws him around a bit.
2) the T-RIP (T-800/Arnie), also instead of simply ripping out his heart like the T-800 did in 1984's The Terminator, this machine only throws John Connor around. Like he is playing with its prey. Like he is toying around with its rag doll.
3) if Skynet somehow knows Kyle Reese' importance, then why noy kill Kyle Reese immediately? I mean, Skynet (aka Serena head) knew about Skynet's time travel assassination attempts, and most likely of Kyle Reese's importance. Then why didn't it Kyle so John Connor would never be born? They used him as bait for John Connor to come to Skynet City. Once John is there, they only put Kyle on some machinery for skin research. WHILE HE WAS NUMBER 1 ON THE HITLIST!!!! Why the hell didn't Skynet kill him?
Really, I don't know how many opportunities Skynet must have before finally getting it, but Connor should have been dead already. Really dead! There's only frightening thing about a Terminator that the previous movies showed us. If they get close to you, then you're dead. Either they rip your heart out, of put a metal spike through your eye or even saw your torse in pieces. It all ends badly or you when a Terminator gets close to you. However in Terminator Salvation, you will only fly around when a Terminator gets close to you.
So really. Who would you follow? John Connor or Skynet? Dumb or dumberer?

Right. All Skynet had to do was put a bomb in Marcus, any kind of bomb. As soon as he got close to John: boom.
Not to mention the fact Skynet made a weapon and gave it free will to turn on Skynet like nothing. Worst writting I think I've ever seen.
Your not the only one atp. I felt cheated after the movie ended
I wanted to hit McG square in his mouth
I just cant understand why people liked this steaming pile of garbage? But hey, people are different

Including throwing people around apparently...Why don't all the Terminators just blow themselves up when they get near their target? They can't self Terminate but they should be able to do whatever they need to do in order to eliminate their target.
