Exactly. Some fanboys only want to bring up the blockbusters by means of knocking his abilities...regardless of the fact that he has done other pieces of work outside of Batman and Terminator.

But of course to bring those up would go against the accusation that he is one-note so yeah...

And I think that some fanboys think that every performance of his is high art.

In action films he has been too one note IMHO.

I actually think that his best performance in an action movie was Equilibrium. Sometimes he was pretty damn good in Batman Begins but it didn't come together for me. He isn't a bad actor so he wasn't out of place in The Dark Knight but I thought that he was easily the weakest link in the acting chain and not just because of that Bat-voice. And the same thing happened but too a far great degree in Terminator Salvation.

I matain that he was wrong for the role of John Connor. He and Worthington should have switched roles as a matter of fact.

I'm just plain frustated with his performance in the Batman movies and most of his action movies in general. I can't and won't change how I feel about that...no matter how unpopular my opinion is.

Well Bale wouldn't have done the film if he wasn't John Conner.

In fact it was Bale who "saved" John Conner.

McG wanted Bale to be Marcus Wright. The fact Bale wanted to be John Conner is the only reason he wasn't killed off. McG wanted Conner to just be a voice on the radio that inspired Reese to go meet him. Conner was then supposed to die like five minutes after Wright and Reese met him.

If Bale hadn't insisted on playing Conner, Conner would be dead.

The only reason Connor wasn't killed off and replaced by Marcus, was because of AICN leaking that ending onto the internet and the backlash it received. That's the only reason the ending was changed.

You're right about Bale being originally offered Marcus, but turned it down in favor of playing Connor instead. Bale had no preference on the size of his role though. He just wanted what would best service the story.

I just found this version of the Terminator theme which from what the description says is Terminator Salvation music mixed with Danny Elfman's version of the T2 theme. It's sped up a little bit. But I like it enough to say WTH? Why wasn't this used, or something like it. I know I shouldn't still be harping on the theme, but dang.

That is a fantastic mix.

I don't get why they left out the Terminator theme either. Especially in the intro. It seemed to be clearly based off the T1 intro.

The only thing I even liked from that was the beginning when it slowly builds up to the main theme. The actual theme sounds too much like a generic heroic theme for me.

I loved this movie, it has its faults but I thought it was great. The blu ray is an insult to anyone who'll buy this. Only 3 minutes on the director's cut, only 3 features on the 2nd disc and the digital copy is the theatrical version. What crap.

Yes, there was. The whole concept was build around Marcus replacing John Conner and removing that removed any impact or point the plot was really meant to deliver.

That's how the script ended. That's not what the story was about. The story was about a criminal who had lost faith in his own humanity and was given a second chance at life when he was being used for more evil purposes. That was the story. You can literally do anything with it. The whole dynamic of a human being who was like a machine before death and the machine that became a human being after was very intriguing and should have been explored more. It wasn't.
