Though that's fine that Cameron feels he needs to use so much CGI, I hope with the new Alien, Ridley does his way, very gritty and real feeling. That is his gift to Sci-Fi, and I hope he continues it.

I'm putting all my faith in Ridley in this remake, I really am. Solidus, I won't mind CGI in the movie but I also want some of the old, guy in a suit effects.

So am I. I just hope he does the gritty real feel to it. Mainly more so then just suit effects, I want the sets to be actually made, like he did with his two great Sci-fi's. I kinda tire of "green screen sci fi's"

I have such high hopes for Robin Hood.

I really hope they knock that one out of the park.

Terminator and Terminator 2 are good action movies.

Legendary action films, I think.

T2, is a film I think that is still a major influence to film makers to this day.

they should use effects that will give the best results. if this means bad pupets and obvious animatronics then they should use them. sarcasm of course.i think District 9 prooved that if you use a lot of bump, dirt layers and a gritty style you can make very good effects that fit in.

the reason Scott used body suits and pupets was because those were the only effects possible. if they had CGI in the 70's they would use it.

it also depends what kind of shots you will have. if you want to show the whole alien in one shot in all its glory then you need CGI. if you want to scare people in close ups on the body and use lighting triks to hide it in the shadows then use real people in suits.

Well duh.Sometimes I laugh at your posts.:cwink: Of course if CGI can do something better then use it. But that does not mean use the hell out of it. If you have a full shot that requires insane movement, then one will use CGI. But animatronics are quite farther along as well.

LOL, if you read my other post, it is clearly obvious use CGI when you absolutely have to, but too many directors of today, *ala George Lucas* use it so much, and use it when they are lazy and don't want to do things on camera. Practical effects still can be done, and look better, its just that some directors have grown lazy, and take shortcuts with CGI.

So yet again use CGI when you have to. But don't saturate it like so many films do today.

Well, if Ridley was hanging out with James on the Avatar set.

God only knows what inspired him. :csad:

Well lets wait till Avatar is out, if it gets panned for certain things, Ridley could change his tune, but I doubt Alien will be "Avatar" size of CGI.

I give Ridley enough credit to know that Alien would not do so well with that much CGI lol.

I finally saw this last night. I'd give it a 6/10 or a 7/10, but I may be generous especially since I saw Transformers: ROTF before it.

The thing is I liked the first one too. What a disappointing POS.

Does anyone have or know where I can view the deleted scene of Kyle finding Sarah's photo after burying Marcus. Its only on Blu Ray.

Anyone know what other kind of deleted scene are on Blu Ray?

Okay so remember back when they were originally going to kill off John Connor and McG and his crew rewrote the ending amid the controversy?

When John gets stabbed through the chest by the T-800, did anyone else in the theater think that they actually were going through with it?

I specifically remember my reaction when Connor gets stabbed...I actually jumped (cuz it was unexpected) and then thought to myself, "McG, you lying s.o.b.!!! You are gonna kill him off!!" :cmad:

I didn't get that worked up about it because by that point the movie had already lost it.

I was well aware McG was a lying SOB beforehand.

None of you wanted to believe it after July 2008.

I did. The real ending is way better though.

Ah yes, Connor being stabbed.

My dad turned the movie off when that happened.
