Terminator: Salvation - The NEW new thread

The tank chase inside the hybrid couple's house is worse. Firstly, it interrupts them watching their TV, then manages to run inside their house, despite being a HK TANK, The HK is thwarted by a swimming pool, then the hybrid family walk out the rubble and survey their home with 'placid expressions'. It's the kind of sight gag that Nolan always uses in his Batman chases, but tackier.
How far removed from the T1 future scenes can you get? They pissed all over Cameron's movies and tried to change everything with their own inventions, from the future war really being a front for a hybrid seaside resort, to Connor being nothing at all and instating Marcus as the 'messiah'.

John Brancato and Michael Ferris, wrote T3, Catwoman, The Surrogates, and TS. How they manage to work is beyond me.

Has anyone watched the Director's Cut yet? If so is it even worth it? I mainly want to know if the added scenes don't really help the film or even bog it down a bit.

I still can't decide if I want to get this on DVD/Blu Ray or not.

Does Hollywood have such a shortage of writers that writers like Brancato and Ferris are considered non-expendable?

The added scenes are extremely minimal, a few extra lines of dialogue, a few extra punches, and a 30 second side-boob in shadow.

So basically it doesn't hurt the movie according to you and if I were to buy this movie, I should go with the Director's Cut?

I enjoyed the movie despite it's many problems but not sure if I want to buy it or not. I'm thinking I might as well since I already own T3.

Oh yeah, does Terry Crews get any scenes or is he still just a dead body in the background?

I think if you're gonna buy the movie, then go with the DC. It's not a drastic change, but I don't think it's a change for the worse, and some of the changes are definitely good.

I guess I'll add it next to my other future purchases of District 9 and The Hangover then.

Terry Crews is still on the cutting room floor

Whose boobs do we see, Bloodgood's?

You don't even see them. It's just a stupid awkward scene.

It's up on youtube.

That sucks.

I've come to like Crews quite a bit. I'm not saying he's a good actor(with getting scenes left on the cutting room floor he won't be able to prove himself either)but he's cracked my **** up a lot in the comedic roles he's had, even when it's a small cameo too.

I really would like to see him try something more dramatic just to see if he could handle it.

He's in the expendables, good enough.

The black body building Charlie Brown.

can someone either upload the script again or send it to me? That link has expired.

edit- nm, I have it now.

Signs that their script should've been scrapped and new writers brought in to start from scratch. How they even got to TS from that is beyond me.

Not sure if this was posted...
James Cameron Responds to Terminator Salvation
Wednesday, December 9, 2009 2:53PM By Krystal Clark

Earlier this year everyone was up in arms over Terminator Salvation and how it didn’t fit in with James Cameron’s vision. We all wanted to know what Cameron thought about the sequel but he kept pressing that he was too busy to see the movie. But now, with Avatar finished he had no more excuses and finally admitted to watching the movie. So the big question is, what did he think?

MTV recently caught up with Cameron while promoting Avatar and he revealed that he saw Terminator Salvation recently, but it was completely by accident.

“I have seen it, and unfortunately I saw it the wrong way, on cable at the hotel, while I was working, over three nights because I don’t have much time,” Cameron said. “It’s better than I thought it was going to be.”

It sounds like someone’s expectations were pretty low. Maybe the rest of the general population should have followed his lead? He did go on to give McG and company some praise for their efforts, so it wasn’t a complete backhanded compliment to their work. Especially since one of the main stars of TS is Sam Worthington, who’s also featured in Avatar.

“It’s actually quite reverential to the mythos of the ‘Terminator’ world,” he said. “I think McG and the writers tried hard to keep reacquainting you with some of those ideas in the story that they were weaving. So actually I thought it was pretty cool. I did feel that it sort of lacked Je ne sais quoi. Although I love Sam [Worthington] in it. “

In other words, it was OK, but could have been better. Cameron will be up for his own judgment day (pun intended) when Avatar hits theaters on December 18th. That’s when we’ll see if his movie lacks any Je ne sais quoi.

No surprise here, but Cameron's response to if he would interested in returning to the Terminator franchise (video included in the link):

"No, 'Terminator' is way in my rear-view at this point, kind of made my emotional break with it, back when I was finishing 'Titanic,' believe it or not," he said. "A very similar conversation cropped up at that time because the rights were in play at that point.... I was thinking about [a third 'Terminator' film] but I had decided emotionally to be done with it, and it just feels like last millennium stuff for me, at this point. Now it's been a TV show, and two films since, and trying to go back and reshape it like that stuff didn’t exist doesn’t make sense."

People would like Terminator 4 better- If at the end when Marcus is on the operating table , he gives Star the thumbs up.Barnes should give Marcus a nod of approval.

LOL!:hehe:

Marcus reassures John that "it's all okay. I needed a vacation."

I've watched my Blu-ray. The special effects were good, sound was great, and action is pretty good, this movie had potential to be a lot better. It had no heart. ....(I didn't realize the heart thing until I types it. lol) It should have doen something dramatic with the end like it could have (or paerhaps intended) rather than just fizzle.

As for the the disc, the DC scenes added nothing new to the film and I felt slowed the film even more. I will say however, that I am loving this Maximum Movie Mode feature that WB is doing. Watchmen, and now this. It is really a new spin on the commentary, because let's face it, commentaries can get boring. Here, you get pertinent information to the scene, and it is constant. And the asides with the director are very insightful. I hope WB keeps this thing up, cause it's great.
