Off topic i know, but ive been seeking this for a while now.

For AVI I recommend Xilisoft's AVI to DVD Converter. Easy to use and you can usually fit two movies on one disc.

the 720p and 1080p is in MKV format, not avi or wmv

Use the VLC player to play you .MKV movies on your Home PC Media Players. VLC is freeware.

edit: Checked, and yeah there's one on the way. Interesting too, that Terminator Salvation on Blu-Ray will be the first to have an audio BD Live screening with director McG.

You didn't know about the director's cut? It's only 3 minutes longer, so it won't include all the deleted scenes unfortunately.

I emailed the BBFC asking what additional scenes were included in the Director's Cut, and have just got their response...
***SPOILERS IF YOU WANT TO WAIT FOR THE BLU-RAY***

The additional material in the Extended Version of TERMINATOR SALVATION comprise (aside from the brief nudity) an added scene where Connor and crew shoot at a Terminator machine emerging from water, and another new scene containing sight of a gun held to Connor's head by the Resistance leader.

Will be a ****** director's cut...

It's not about the length, but the scenes are inserted back are not the best scenes. Specially when you know about more existing footage.

^Knowing McG it wouldnt surprise me, but plenty of awesome stuff was left on the cutting room floor for some reason, I thought the DVD/Blu-ray release would be the ideal time to showcase this stuff and add it back in.

It's annoying to know how he bragged about there being 30-40mins of scenes that WILL be on the DVD, and yet we have 3mins confirmed, with glimpses of others.
