That was cool that Cameron didn't trash the film but it still irritates me that some people think Bale is a one-note actor.

Bale is a talented actor but I thought he seemed bored in the movie. Then again I'm one of the few that has been disappointed with his performances in the Batman movies so...listen to me at your own risk.

I guess he did seem a bit bored in TS but I liked him in the Batman films. Especially as Bruce Wayne.

Bale is a fantastic actor IMO.

but i think Terminator was hes second movie where he made it just for the money. just for the paycheck. Equilibrium is hes second. i liked that movie.it was fun. insane over the top action and an angry Bale looking ...........angry :)

I actually remember liking Bale in Terminator Salvation.

Maybe it's because everyone was being so hard on him at the time....

^Thats a strange reason to like someone performance in a movie.

Honestly some on here would have you believe that most were saying his acting was as bad as Megan Fox's.

I just simply found him to be medicore.

but the script also didnt give him a lot to do.

sometimes rewrittes can be good on set. here it was Nolans job to give Bale more screentime. even if this meant that he will only scream more.

hahahahahahhaahhahah

It is, but maybe it's because everyone was saying he was atrocious. I got my expectations real low and saw him deliver a mediocre performance, which made me think all the extreme negativity was unwarranted.

That whole script from those two bad writers should have been thrown in the garbage all together. No re-writes were ever going to save that turd. The original script pissed all over the Terminator myth and the fans and the re-write was just a mediocre Terminator movie.

Remember this is just my snarky opinion:

I think that people went overboard because he is a talented actor and they completely overrated his performance in The Dark Knight.

Yeah, I didnt think Bale was bad in the movie at all, people were well too OTT about his performance being bad, he just didnt get anything to work with, and Worthington being so good didnt help either.

Worthington did steal the show but he had so much more to work with.

The movie missed the boat on so many things its a shame, I can watch and enjoy the movie we got, but it could have been so much better.

Anton did a great job with what he had for sure.

Worthington was the best thing about the movie.

I used to be a big Bale fan. When I first saw him in American Psycho and The Machinist I thought "Wow, this guy can muster a level of intensity!" And I was excited when he was cast as Batman. But since Begins, Dark Knight, Salvation..I've come to realize he only has that one speed.

I think people forget his performances in The Prestige, 3:10 to Yuma, and especially Rescue Dawn since he became Batman. Those were all quite good performance wise, and although no footage has been shown, it looks like he put a lot of effort into The Fighter.

EDIT: Public Enemies was another strong one, in my opinion

they didnt forget it. but this is the internet.
hes last movie before TS was TDK. the second biggest movie. they would bash him no matter what.

you bring him up............then you bring him down.

Anton Yelchin gave the best performance imo.

I 100% agree. He was my favorite part of the film.

Worthington wasn't bad, but his character was unwelcome in the story. I agree they should have completely scrapped the original script instead of trying to salvage it. Marcus Wright was made to make T1-T3 pointless, unless you think Sarah was called the mother to the future because a robot impersonates her son. Or that all of John's development was so that he could do nothing in the future except talk on the radio before getting killed.

Quite true. If Leo starred in another 400+ million blockbuster he would be hated again.

There was nothing wrong with the story. And the rewrites improved it. The problem was there wasn't enough (time) rewriting.

Yes, there was. The whole concept was build around Marcus replacing John Conner and removing that removed any impact or point the plot was really meant to deliver. The concept itself was terrible but keeping the general structure of the story and removing the key scene just makes the film really pointless. There is no way to save a script when the very premise is awful. The rewrites simply changed it from being the film that destroyed the Terminator franchise to a film that was mediocre but harmless.

Worthington's performance was way overrated, Anton was better than him and Bale in the flick.

Funny you don't mention the one in your avvy :oldrazz:

Exactly. Some fanboys only want to bring up the blockbusters by means of knocking his abilities...regardless of the fact that he has done other pieces of work outside of Batman and Terminator.

But of course to bring those up would go against the accusation that he is one-note so yeah...

I think with much better material and a more actor friendly director Bale would have done a great John Connor. I don't think too highly of any of the performances here.

I like his Public Enemies performance. A lot of people didn't, but I like what little Bale does with his facial expressions in it, yet those little pieces tell the story very effectively. That happened throughout Public Enemies. I'm one of the few that was actually more impressed with Bale than Depp in that (and Depp was good)
