The Force Awakens TFA not being screened for critics

Like spoilers aren't going to be flooding the internet the moment the first screenings get out.

Heck, there will be people posting spoilers during the first showing.

Yes but the first showing is not until December 14th. It does give more time. Usually many critics and sites will post spoilers weeks in advance and it spreads across the internet. Sooner or later more and more people see these. By the time people start posting things after the premiere (which screenings sound like they will start December 15th) Very shortly after people will be sitting down to watch it themselves. Yes the internet can spread things quickly, but the longer things are out there, the attention it eventually gets.

The point is to delay it as long as possible. Which I'm sure many of the GA will be okay with.
