The 10 Most Awesome Movies Hollywood Ever Killed

10. Peter Jackson's Halo
9. Unbreakable 2
8. Ghostbusters 3
7. Kevin Smith's Fletch Won
6. David Fincher's Rendezvous with Rama
5. Dumb and Dumber 2
4. Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis
3. Howard Stern's Fartman
2. Schwarzenegger and Verhoeven's Crusade
1. Will Ferrell's A Confederacy of Dunces

That was a great/interesting read (save for #3 and #5).

The "And while we're on the subject" segements were great (Never knew that the Governator would've been Doc Ock with James Cameron made Spider-Man). The funniest part of the whole article was this for Coppola's Megalopolis:

That's why no list of unmade masterpieces would be complete without Megalopolis, Coppola's pet project about a futuristic New York that's had pretty much every Oscar winner of the last decade attached to it at some point or another (including Nicolas Cage, Russell Crowe, and even some talented actors like Robert De Niro, Paul Newman, and Kevin Spacey).

Oliver Stone's Planet of the Apes.

If you find a synopsis, it was quite something.

I didn't realize Ghostbusters 2 was so hated...even by Bill Murray. I love that movie. Go figure.

Interesting read... but he lost me when he said that we want more films like the matrix :p

Damn shame about Fletch Won. Jason Lee would have been great.

Oliver Stone's Planet of the Apes.

If you find a synopsis, it was quite something.

I started reading the script I found online, it's pretty stupid in the beginning... IT involves gonig back in time through our DNA, I **** you not ... So I stopped reading after 30 pages :(

Planet of the Apes itself is a pretty stupid idea...

10. Hulk 2 (starring the original 2003 cast)
9. "Batman Forever" sequel starring Val Kilmer
8. "Crow" sequels with Brandon Lee (the accident was due to ignorant people, trying to save money by relieving the weapons master!)
7. Superman II: The Completed Richard Donner Cut
6. Daredevil 2 (won't happen until the film rights go back to Marvel)
5. Superman IV: The Version Worth Seeing
4. Quantum Leap: A Bold Leap Forward
3. Super Mario Bros. 2 (yes, I liked the first film!)
2. Short Circuit 3 (aka "Dr. Marner's 5,000th Tantrum")
1. Time Trax: The Movie

...and as a bonus, the #1 film everyone's bugged Universal for since 1990: Back to the Future, part IV".

Were there ever plans to turn The Crow into a franchise back when Lee was alive using the Draven character?

Yep, Lee was signed for a 3-picture deal back in 1993.

I wonder how that would have worked out? Eric Draven came back from the dead got his revenge against those that killed him & Shelly & then died again end of story, what more could they have done with the characters & story? Maybe it would have been more like the crappy The Crow: Stairway To Heaven tv series where the Crow is kept on earth for an extended period of time. Although each movie seems like a rehash of the last I like the idea of having a new Crow each time with a new story. I'd love to see a new movie with a female as the Crow.

I heard in a radio interview with Dan Akroyd that Ghostbusters 3 was actually going to happen soon, as a CGI movie, and Bill Murray had agreed to do the voice of Peter Venkman. I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT - Found it, this is part II, the part that talks about Ghostbusters, but you can listen to the whole thing if you want: http://www.cisnfm.com/station/blog_mike_mcguire.cfm?bid=7500&med=30179

^Ramis has confirmed that it is NOT true. Just more false hope by Akroyd. Every five years Dan says that a Ghostbusters III movie is being made lol.

But they are planning a Ghostbusters video game.

Ghosbusters3 they have to do it! forget Bill Murray if he doesn t wont to do it. That s ok he is too old anyways lets pick Duchovny instead!

Unbreakable was superb! It was a misunderstood movie. Definitely a 2!

Dumb & Dumber2 no doubt!

I read the article very interesting arnold as doc octotpus??? I wnder why there s never been a blade runner 2?

I didn't realize Ghostbusters 2 was so hated...even by Bill Murray. I love that movie. Go figure.

I've never seen it be hated by anyone other than this site and Bill Murray (and it's hard to take his opinion seriously on this sort of thing). It's generally considered not as good as the first, but it's still well liked. Also, reading further, they don't like South Park because it's too preachy and libertarian, so Cracked isn't really representing common ideas.

Interesting read... but he lost me when he said that we want more films like the matrix :p

Yeah he lost me there as well and the fact that he put a movie called Fartman above a David Fincher movie.
