The 100 Scariest Movie Scenes

"What's weird is that Beatty continued to be featured in rape scenes throughout the rest of his career. He was raped by Richard Pryor in Silver Streak, Gene Hackman in Superman, Christopher Reeve in Superman II, and both Gene Hackman AND Christopher Reeve in Superman III."

LMAO

Kudos for putting in the boatride from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

I think this is a pretty good list.

Yeah, I laughed out loud when I read that.

As classic as Psycho is, the shower scene is a bit overrated nowadays. :o

The Psycho shower scene is a pioneer for the all the crap that you watch now that tries to imitate it.For every shower scene where a chick gets killed,Psycho did it first. That's why it's so celebrated.besides, back in 1960,it was a big deal.

Should've been number one. :o

The scariest movie ever: Son of the Mask.
Why: The CGI baby.
Little Man is already creeping me out, and that's just the crappy trailer.

If you want to see something scary, I suggest you check out the 1980's BBC serial The Box of Delights. This is a TV show made for children, but is full of flat-out chilling sequences and nightmarish visions. Of all the films I've ever seen, it ranks as one of the most frightening.

Don't get me wrong - I know it set a high standard in the horror genre - and I don't want to take anything away from that. ;) I said nowadays because I find other scenes that came after Psycho's shower scene to be scarier.

What? Kathy Bates' nude scene from About Schmidt didn't make it?

Overall, not a bad list. The one big omission for me was the "lady in the bathtub" scene from The Shining. Also, nothing from The Omen (the decapitation scene? The jackal at the cemetery?), and I personally think the chestburtser should've been higher (like # 2 or even # 1). Also, there wasn't anything from The Evil Dead (guess they share my view that it's more scary than funny) or The Lost Boys. Other than that, it's damn good.

Number 9 ... is my biggest brown pant moment.

If you have never seen Exorcist 3 be careful ..... skid-mark city!!

#7 and #59 scared the living **** out of me when I first watched Jaws.

Thats a really good list.:up: Alien, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, The Thing, Physco, all the classics are on there (well most).

My favorite scary scene ever,

Evil Dead was on there twice I believe. #70 and #32.

I've never seen Exorcist III. But a friend of mine told me that scene really scared her ****less and it happens unexpectedly too.

Anyone know where I can find the SNL parody of Willy Wonka w/ Jeff Richards? That parody was HILARIOUS!

Bloody right.

The nurse goes from room to room and you sit waiting then ..............

BAM.

Loud music and a split-second shot of some freak under a sheet going at the back of her neck with these MASSIVE silver shears.

The whole thing is just very creepy and disturbing.

Nothing has scared me more than the opening scene in Scream were Casey gets murdered by Ghost Face when I saw it for the first, second, and tenth time!:o

Ok, ones that I agree with:

#99 - NOW I find it hysterically funny, but it used to really scare me when I was a kid.
#62 - I would have put this at number one. This is the only horro film that still scares me now.
#46 - That creepy looking kid! Salems Lot is arguably IMO the scariest vampire film ever.
#16 - That film is genius.
