I wasn't expecting the Oilers to do so well. Weird. I like them though... much more than I like the Red Wings. Hopefully Samsonov does good as well.

I didn't expect this as well. But I'm totally ecstatic over it.

True but then again Ottawa has also won its fair share of President's trophies.

And they're just called chokers.

Anyway as a Devils fan I can empathize with Detroit.

After we won the cup in 95 we had a lot of hard times.

In 96- missed playoffs

We won our division in 97,98,99 & were the top Eastern Seed.

We won one playoff rd.

Very frustrating experience, especially the last playoff series in which NJ lead 3-2 & blew the series.

Then we went to the Finals 3 times in the next 5 years & won 2 cups.

So things can change...

CBC showed a graphic that the besides the three Cup wins, the Red Wings either go out in the first or second round. Also, the Ducks and Flames surprised the Wings and went to the Finals. Of course they both lost after going seven games.

The Red Wings had a much higher payroll than Ottawa. And most teams.

Detroit joined the Devils as the second team to twice been eliminated by the 8th seed in the first round.
