Bah whenever I watched an American station broadcast, it always sounded they could care less what was going on....

Doc seemed pretty passionate last night. I agree, the last two games I've watched on NBC. First CBC all playoffs long has done some shoddy work with the score ticker in the corner. Very amatuer. Then Bob Cole, Harry Neale and Don Cherry are a game away from thinking its 1986. They're all too old and its been really showing in these playoffs. They really need Greg Millen and Jim Hughson as the main broadcast crew.

Hockey Lives Here: TSN's motto holds up. They know how to broadcast some hockey. The whole crew, analysts, the whole package is better than any other network. Plus Jennifer Hedger doesn't seem out of place like other female broadcasters.

But NBC does a good job, everyone at my house had no problem watching it last night. If Carolina does win I'll switch it over to CBC since they'll have extended coverage. Then its off to The Score or TSN. Don't even bother watching Rogers Sportsnet.

Yes I agree. TSN does know how to boardcast a hockey game. CBC looks like the amatuer hour. NBC has all kinds of drop down boxes with stats, like the little box below a players name that shows how long his shift is....... stuff like that... CBC barely gives you a box with the score, but thats it. I want more damnit!

From what I watched of the NHL playoffs on NBC, I do like it better than CBC. Those little stats they play on NBC are a pretty nice touch.

And yeah, I hate Sportsnet. I stopped watching that network a long time ago after the hours and hours (literally) of coverage of any BC-related sports team.

Owned.

Indeed, I'll never get the twits who claim no one in the southeast cares about hockey. The throngs that turned for Tampa's game seven; a packed out house, and thousands outside cheering them on. And now, tons are yelling and rooting for the Canes in Raleigh..and even my guys who have not yet made a playoff run, Atlanta is developing a great fanbase. Canada may have started it, but they don't own all fandom for it.

Pfft! That's 1/10th of the people that were on the red mile in Calgary after every game the Flames won in '04...and that's Tampa actually taking home the cup! lol

so you took the time to count heads in those photos?

C'mon what is there like 15, maybe 20 people in Calgary??

in Edmonton, we would have 50 000 or more peeps at the Stanley Cup Parade, so would Calgary....... that parade = LMFAO

Well over a million actually.....and at least people here care about hockey and support their team. That parade is embarassing in comparison to the crowds that came out after EVERY SINGLE GAME in Calgary to support the Flames. If the cup came to Calgary, the whole city would be their supporting the team, not that tiny showing in Tampa. Also, never forget, Tampa would have never touched the cup if it weren't for CANADIAN players like Lecavalier and St.Louis.

LOL @ the Lose-apeg Jets.....

Annoying Oilers fan Chris Lynch from the same Winnipeg radio station was challenged to find his way into Game 3 of the Oilers/Sharks with only $97 the day before. He couldn't fly or drive his own car. He had some listeners in Winnipeg donate money and got a ride with two guys to Edmonton. On his way, the Edmonton media found out and someone contacted him saying they had a standing room only ticket. He arrived in Edmonton spent $30 on beer instead of his planned $10, used his last $60 to buy the ticket. Stayed with an acquaintance. While waiting for the guy to show up and give him his ticket he got inside the locker rooms and toured the rest of the arena. Told NBC that the Sharks suck and San Jose sucks. He met Joe Thornton's brother outside Rexall Place, who also had standing room only, and they watched the game together. He predicted a 3-2 Oilers win and they did win 3-2 in 3OT. Since he got in, the stations flew him home, if he didn't he would've had to find his own way. They had 'The Littliest Hobo' theme music playing when they called him for updates. Oilers sent him an autographed poster of a player when he returned. He guaranteed the Oilers would come back against the Hurricanes. That just may happen.

Here We Go Oilers, Here We Go!!!!!

Wwwwooooohhhhooooooooooooooo

Sat Nite Game 6 Will Be Rockin In Rexall!

BOOKS YOUR FLIGHT, WRAP IT UP & PUT STANLEY BACK IN THE BOX........

ITS BACK TO OIL COUNTRY BABY!

WWWOOOOHHOOOOOOOOOOOO :up::up::up::up::)

I would have said this even if the Oil had lost, BEST GAME OF THIS SERIES. Good on you boys, you canes fans can post about how you will win the next one or even the next one. But don't you get it, the Oiler fans love their team .. did you not see that when the Oil lost game 4 and the fans chanted GO OILERS GO, I seen pouty faces in Carolina tonight, see the difference. You may be able to match the sound of Rexall, but you will never match the true love for this game. When the Oilers say WE, they mean them and the fans. And WE are the only ones that have believed in them. Do or Die. I BELIEVE.

This series shows two things, imo.

1. Why grinder players really make the best coaches, as opposed to superstars. Mactavish, when he played was a grinder player. Hhe was a top player in the NHL, because he had to learn every trick in the book to keep up with his fellow superstars, Messier or Gretzky. As a result, he learned a lot and is able to pass this knowledge on to his players, as opposed to Gretzky, who is trying to be a good coach, but not doing as well.

2. Never, ever give up until the last buzzer.

Nobody cares about Hockey in Tampa really. I have family there and I'm there all the time and actually went to a game during the finals in 2004.

Guess what? I walked up to the gate and bought two tickets two hours before game time. It wasn't game 7, but it's still pretty sad anyway. The Bucs are the venue to see down there - Gasparilla is also a good event.
