Her 'fairtaxness' does not erase all of her other ignorant stances.

With our the state of our economy, it really does. We need solutions to fix the economy. Harry Reid doesn't have them. Sharon Angle did. Her defeat was a defeat for the American economy.

Really, who the **** cares how socially conservative Angle is with 10% unemployment and our nation facing a double dip recession?

But the context doesn't have to be necessarily racist.

For example, comparing Obama to a witch doctor during a debate about HEALTHCARE isn't necessarily racist.

Comparing Obama to a monkey in order to make him seem buffoonish is, I would also argue, not necessarily racist. Tactless? Definitely.
Let's put it this way: if they were using those images against a black man to prove a point that has nothing to do with racism, they're ******ed.

I'll leave it there.

isn't Angle also one of those "abstinence only" education types...or is that O'Donnell?

I wonder if Christine was reading a potions spell and it called for some newt and so that is why she ran for political office????

They're tactless. I agree with that.

But that's what happens when you have average Americans voicing political opinions - they get clumsy.

Why aren't they....why aren't monkeys still evolving into humans?

:lmao: I'll never forget that one.

No, it's not just tactless. It's stupid. I don't see there being any two ways about it, Norman. It's self-defeating in a very basic manner.

Believe it or not, alot of people.

If someone had the best economic plan/strategy and they were known baby cannibals then they aren't going to get elected. I wouldn't want Ben Stein being the economic advisor to the president if he was a repeat child molester. Other views come into play in your bid to hold office.

Exactly chase.

And those people aren't thinking rationally. How many Republican social wackos are in Congress? And how much truly wacko social policy has been passed?

It's as asinine as a Tea Party limited government social conservative refusing to support a qualified libertarian candidate because they are pro-choice and pro-legalization.

Yes, but surely you can see how completely, utterly, totally ridiculous it is to compare Sharon Angle to a child molester or eater.

I don't know Angle's morality but being against gay marriage is one of those idiotic morals to have when running for office in today's world and rightfully so. O' Donnel is the prime example of idiotic personal opinions. I pray that she never, ever is allowed to hold public office and I pray for the souls of the people she would ever represent. She could have written an amazing outline to recovering the economy but I would hope she never held public office.

so its ok to support FairTax and then say "lets round up all the darkies"??

The only people who are not thinking rationally are those (like Sharon Angle) who would seek to have us socially back in the dark ages.

that's a bit of an extreme comparison but I get your point.

You won't find any argument with me regarding the obvious nature of gay marriage, but you also can't ignore the fact that half the country disagrees with us. Which is what makes your metaphor so totally inadequate.

To me in politics insane economic and governing policy is significantly more dangerous than bad social policy.

While I disagree vehemently with many of the positions of both Angle and O'Donnell both were more qualified for governing in America than the far-left men they lost too.

the far left men won't make me drink out of a different water fountain or pretend that evolution doesn't exist

Social liberalism does matter and rightfull so. I personally feel the federal government shouldn't get involved in an issue like gay marriage, though I am for it. So, I don't want a yahoo who wil make some amendment to ban it, but I also don't want that to be an issue the federal gov't get involved in. Issues like that are for state law, and the Consitution lists that. The federal gov't doesn't need to dictate social rules, unless you get extreme circumstances like we had in the South.
