The 2012 New Hampshire Republican Presidential Debate

God dammit Bachmann, just when I thought that you answered a question correctly, you had to backtrack it to sound like all the others :o

Paul has the best answer.

I (Handsome Rob) would no more support a Constitutional amendment or federal decision banning gay marriage than I would legalizing it--it's a state issue. As far as I'm concerned, the gov't should get out of it entirely.

All of the candidates also oppose the overturning of DADT.

...and now Bachmann would go back and OVERTURN the repeal!?

Mitt Romney is being shown far too much respect by everyone else tonight.

Someone call him out already.

Ron Paul didn't say that he opposed the overturning of DADT's repeal, as a matter in fact, he went on to say that we shouldn't be looking at equal rights by group, but equal rights for everyone. He also voted to repeal DADT.

Paul was the exception then.

Did Ron Paul just say that he'd completely ignore what our military says about armed conflicts?

He's saying that the generals should be listening to their commander-in-chief and if the commander-in-chief demands that we should pull out, then they must pull out. He isn't saying that he'd ignore them in regards to a justified active foreign conflict.

Pawlenty just praised Sarah Palin as a VP pick!?

Forgive me. I'm glazing over during some aspects of this...show.

Bachmann just learned the goodness of the American people NOW as opposed to when she first started to run for office?

Well, as much of a Cain fan as I currently am, I have to say that I was most impressed with Paul. The rest were just "meh."

While I disagree with Bachmann, I think she did a good job to establish herself as the main social conservative candidate, which would really hurt Sarah Palin if she runs and I think completely negates Rick Santorum out of the race the way Ron Paul negated away Gary Johnson.

I think that Romney did pretty well with his performance as well, which is a necessity when he is the front runner.

The biggest losers here are TPaw and Rick Santorum.

Replied before the edit . . . :funny:

Cain is still tops in my opinion. I just haven't really been impressed with the standard Republican candidates in a long, long time. That's why I gravitate toward Cain (never held office) and Paul (principled above party). Between this and reading "End the Fed," Paul is steadily moving up. Cain seemed to squirm around in his response about Muslims. If he was trying to make his answer clear and in context, it still came out politician-y to me.

EDIT: I agree with your assertion that Bachmann established herself as the social conservative. I think the problem she may run into is that social conservatives like me are minimizing the social issues and are almost entirely focused on fiscal issues this go-around.

His horribly handling of the Muslim question aside, Cain did a rather good job with his performance.

Paul was the only one to actually answer the questions and not give a speal about being a small town American, entrepreneur, and a family man. Nor did he use most of his time to simply bash the left and Obama.

Winner: Romney
Gained the most: Bachman
Loser: Pawlenty

If Romney has anything, it's his ability to not answer a single ****ing question and dodge/avoid everything thrown at him. His whole campaign might as well be: "forget about me, Obama sucks". Son of a ***** might slip through his RomneyCare debacle.
