🇺🇸 The 2024 Vice Presidential Debate Thread

One thing I will say, and it makes no difference to me, but that girl knows how to dress.

EDIT: But she's wearing those earrings she used to cheat in the debate. "They" are telling her what to say........

I get all that and with such potentially small margins, anything is something. I think the Harris/Trump moved the needle a bit, but I don't see the VP debate doing that......very much....maybe a few folk.
They might be virtual unknowns to some who barely follow politics and just turn up for things like debates. On that instance it might have some impact.

I mean, it'll probably have "some" effect, but I doubt it will be at all noticeable. People don't tend to vote for the VP. They might not vote if they despise someone (you feelings me JD?), but I don't see hardly anyone, outside maybe of Minnesota, voting for Harris because of Walz.

This election might be different. There's a real chance Trump won't last four years. JD has more of a chance to ascend than Walz.

I don’t think many people think that way. If they are voting Trump they are probably fine with Vance. Undecided voters tend to vote top of ticket.

I'm telling you, this election is not about winning for Trump, it's about staying out of jail. Here's how this is going to go:
Scenario 1: Harris/Walz decisively win beyond a reasonable doubt to thwart any State Board of Election nonsense.
Scenario 2: Electoral College Tie which ends with the Senate "undecided" and the House voting to elect Vance.
Scenario 3: Trump wins, gets his pageant on 1/20, then peacefully resigns 1/21 on the agreement he be pardoned, which SCOTUS will bend over backwards to uphold.
Scenario 4: Trump wins, refuses to resign, and they 25th his ass before the Inaugural Ball.

You're looking at 12 more years of Vance (if we're even talking about elections in 2028) if Harris doesn't win.

I vote for scenario #1. :(

"IF" Trump wins, I tend to favor this scenario.....

Trump wins. Takes over the justice department and has them drop all federal charges against him. Merchan gives him a slap on the wrist as a first time offender or suspends sentencing because he's president elect. Trump then puts all the political pressure he can to have state charges suspended while fighting civil damages. He then comes up with a bunch of new money scams and brings in 100s of millions from foreign governments by using the State or Commerce Department to shield him from being prosecuted thanks to the latest SCOTUS decision. Towards the end of 2028, he resigns, has Vance pardon him, and goes home a very, very wealthy man.

Or Harris wins and he probably goes to jail......that's why he wants to leave the country if he loses.

This will be fun hearing people trying to talk over the other. :whatever:

So they'll just get to spew crazy lies and get away with it. Outstanding.

I'll be watching, unless it turns out to be an incoherent shouting match.
