It's cool that there is still going to be Agents stuff to read even with their book canceled.

There's actually a lot more stuff with them since their book got canceled. Not that I'm complaining. :)

I like how the covers of Avengers vs. Atlas feature characters from each team with similar themes.

Aw, poor Hank, Bob, Namora, and Jan. It's basically cover 1: tech, cover 2: myths, cover 3: leaders, cover 4: miscellaneous. Not sure what the deal is with Ken on cover 1, either. :o

''Thunderbolts: Checking the Atlas''

"The Agents of Atlas were expecting something like this," remarks Parker. "In their own book they were running a front as high-tech weapons suppliers that were supposedly going to arm Norman Osborn's H.A.M.M.E.R. forces well. That led to a dead end and the Atlas Foundation came under attack from old enemies. So Jimmy Woo and his team dropped the cover of an alliance with Osborn to deal with their own house. But Osborn doesn't like people reneging on him! So Norman put the Agents on his infamous 'list' and the Thunderbolts are charged with ridding the world of them." The Agents' appearance in the upcoming issue of THUNDERBOLTS follows hot on the heels of their most recent adventures.

"They've been on a desperate search for teammate Venus, who has literally angered the gods," recounts Parker. "We find out that as a Siren of myth, she was created in the image of Aphrodite, and Aphrodite has some problems with someone else being presented as Venus to the modern world.

"Left with no clues to follow, the Agents turned up some information that the X-Men had a computer and global scanning system that could scour the world for a person with telepathic ability, which the Uranian has. Recent events, [such as] the battles in San Francisco [in 'Utopia'], made it unclear whether the mutants would be amenable to lending their prized tech to the task, so the Agents of Atlas went into stealth mode and stole Cerebra. Believe it or not, this led to a huge fight between the X-Men and Atlas. It was resolved by an unlikely peacemaker, King Namor, and the Agents did find Venus-just in time to be lured into a Thunderbolts deathtrap."

When pitting the Agents against the Thunderbolts, Parker relates that he's had a blast with the different pairings between individual members.
"They're all fun for different reasons," notes the writer. "The neat thing about the Thunderbolts face-off is that you see the Agents in a different light, viewed through the warped and flawed lens of the Thunderbolts."

Haven't been paying attention, who the f**k is with the T-bolts these days?

Headsman (kinda has goblin gear and a big axe)
Paladin
Ant-Man
Ghost
Nuke
Mister-X (low level mutant telepath that can perfectly anticipate any move by his opponent before they even do it)

You mean he took Nomad's old crazy, mind controlled identity? Sure why not.

So, I saw a pic with what looked like Black Widow. (The blonde one) is or was she a member of this current team?

She was but it turned out to be the original who was pretending to be the new one to spy on osborn for Nick Fury, T-bolts has been really good. If you're not a fan of ellis, you still might really dig the run after him. A lot of good stuff there. I ****ing love ghost now. Flip through a couple issues if you have a chance.

Didn't Norman put Yelena on the team after Natasha lost her cover and left with Songbird?

I missed a bit so I'm not sure, the latest preview only shows the members I mentioned.

I could've sworn she was added, but I have a bad memory. Oh well, I don't really like her anyway. :oldrazz:

Not sure what the deal is with Ken on cover 1, either. :o

Maybe M-11 is a link between Tech and Muscle. Who cares, the monkey should be on every cover.

Very disappointed the series overall was cancelled, but I'm happy to see that they are still taking a prominant role through guest appearances and minis.

They've got more appearances coming up without a comic than they did when they had a comic. :hehe:

Kiel Phegley: More on the creative side, you've been saying for a while that Marvel will be adding some co-features to titles, and we're about to see the first wave of that with "Agents of Atlas" making its way into "Incredible Hercules." Any hints as to what other titles might get a page bump? Are additional pages in the best-selling titles that have already seen a $3.99 price point something we can assume will be a move in 2010?

I've stated pretty clearly in the past that there is no definitive plan that will say, "Every $3.99 book will have a back-up story." We're creating a lot of back-up material, not just for the comics, but also for Marvel Digital Comics, so I think at the end of the day it will all be more story and title specific – whatever makes a good back-up for a given comic. For us "Agents of Atlas" within "Incredible Hercules" is a terrific fit. There is no spoon here. It's really going to be more a matter of feel and, yes, in some cases providing extra content on our $3.99 books for readers.

Damn, that looks good. Almost makes me want to buy the issues they play backup in.

Well, at least Joe Q's honest about the blatant price-gouging. I'm glad we're getting something extra for it in iHerc, though.
