I have the PS4 version pre-ordered for 59,95€. It annoys me that now I could get it from Steam for 29,99€. I know that it wouldn't work on the highest settings on my PC but still.

Hmmm, I wonder if I should preorder from GAME just for the extra costumes, it's a bit more pricey though 52 pounds. I can get it from shopto for 44 pounds.

Just got back from watching the movie. I can highly recommend it, it is very long (hobbit length, movie started 20:30 and ended around 23:00).

NO SPOILERS IMPRESSION: A lot of character development throughout the movie with a heavy and long finale (I don't know, maybe around 30-40 minutes. much much longer than the lizard fight in TASM1). A lot of twists too.


On the other hand I don't know how Beenox can follow the movie without giving stuff away. I expect them to spoil certain things so play at your own risk, there's stuff you wont really see coming that they could potentially spoil in the game.

//EDIT: XBox One version is cancelled. A reliable german retailer cancelled all XB1 preorders and sent an email out to everyone saying that the publisher cancelled the XB1 version of TASM2. It has been pulled from every single retailer here.

It already went up for pre-order in the US for PS4 (on the PS Store). If I had to guess, they had troubles optimizing their engine for the XB1. The eSRAM is kind of a bottleneck if you don't add workarounds utilizing it.

That is possible but what if it is because it is a SONY movie? Maybe they just do not want it on the competitors platform. That being said a XB360 version makes more sense because a lot of people will buy it on that. Or i am just jumping to stupid conclusions...

I would definitely not play the game before watching the movie. There is no way they wont spoil the movie this time around without half-assing the movie storyline in the game. It has a lot of eastereggs and plot twists they're going to ruin if they follow atleast half of the movie in their movie storyline. I'd say that there is A LOT more to spoil than in the first movie.

@Spiderhog: That's not how it works. They'd lose out on potential sales, it has to either do something with the XB1 version not working properly or other reasons not related to Sony.

Ok going to say it for the last time: Don't play the game before you've not seen the movie. If they follow the movie with the villain encounters they are most likely bound to spoiler a few things.

I'm not sure what to think about the Xbox One version possibly being cancelled. Considering I'll be extremely sad if that's true, I'll just wait for Beenox themselves to say it lol
