This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]483259[/split]
From an enjoyment perspective its not as seemless as it once was.
When it was in cinemas I genuinly enjoyed all nine sittings. Each time I thought it was actual cinematic perfection.
Then, on the Blu-ray, things jump out. I didn't really take note of crowds of people booing or cheering spidey, I didn't take note of Rhino actually saying "SAY HELLO TO ALEXSI SEKSEVITCH", I thought he was just yelling that out, I now realise he was probably breaking the fourth wall!
Still a solid 8/10 for me I think.
I won't change my film ratings as they are rated as "first reactions" for me. But in terms of spidey movies I feel its
SM2, TASM, TASM2, SM1, SM3 at the moment
"say hello to alexsi seksevitch"
I hope bendis works on the third film because this franchise does borrow elements of ultimate so it'd be great to see Brian Michael bendis writing the script
I agree, in fact, I've noticed that Bendis' USM has a very high cinematic quality, with some tweaking, volume 1 of USM could be a fantastic Spider-Man film, I'm all for Bendis coming on as the script writer.
Actually ultimate spiderman feels more like a tv series than a film. Heck, pretty much most of his writing feels like live action tv series but his writing would still work. Intact, his writing just feels so natural as well like a breath of fresh air
I hope the sinister six, the female spin-off and the amazing spider-man 3 do well because of what happened with the amazing spiderman 2 and its aftermath on Sony the studio really needs and have to make this franchise great. They need to give drew Goddard, Marc Webb, and whoever is working on the female spinoff some freedom including hire some great writers the people love from shows and movies like the skyfall writers.Ultimate Spider-Man (the original Bendis & Bagley run) as is would make a great cartoon. That and Spider-Man 2099. They both are darned good serialized stories, the material's all there but it'll never happen.
Sony here just needs to focus on making a good Spider-Man movie, assess what the other studios are doing right and where they keep missing it. But then again since they keep missing it, they probably still will with the current regime. One big problem for me is how homogenized the films are starting to feel. The studio hand has always and will always be there but it's rearing its head quite literally into the films.
It feels like groundhog day coming to the Spidey parts.
*talk about how much TASM2 sucked, debated did TASM2 suck, how can TASM3 do better, spider-knight creates a new thread, what should TASM3 do, fire Avi, TASM series sucks, Raimi vs Webb debate
It's like ****ing groundhog day. THE FORUM NEEDS AN ENEMA!
