i want to know Raimi´s opinion on TASM2, after he said he liked TASM i wonder how he felt with the sequel

That'd be interesting. But Raimi seems like a gracious dude, I doubt he'd get all Horner and start dissing other people's work. He's probably close with some people at Sony (he is with Amy Pascal, judging from emails), so there's that too.

is this new?

Hundreds of thousands for being incompetent. Nice work if you can get it.

it´s an easy writting work ,you know because special blood is always the ansewer with these guys(Kurtzman and Orci)...

to be fair, a lot of the fan stories for TASM2 were about Peter's blood too, but when it actually was the blood thing, people didn't like it. Sure fan's don't have to be competent writers when they aren't the ones paid to do the job but why then even suggest the idea

the one thing i kept hearing about with the CBC is that in the end he was the only one destined to be spider-man and that kinda ruined the concept of beeing an accident, i remember ignoring those complains because i thought they weren´t going that direction but i was WRONG...

He's not destined to be Spider-Man in TASM. It's still a complete accident.

If they just ended TASM2 at the graveyard (the scene turns black and then transitions into setting up S6) not only would it have been a much more powerful ending than "I am zee rhino" but it would have given us a perfect ending to the TASM series. It was all about Gwen+Peter, so we could have regarded it as a miniseries exploring that part of the universe. Instead it's like, YOU WILL NEVER SEE RHINO, DR KAFKA, FEMALE CARNAGE, SCORPIA, COMIC RELIEF SANDMAN AND BUDGET DOCK OCK TEAM UP WITH SPIDEY TO TAKE OUT MALE CARNAGE AND VENOM.

Plus, a fade to black at a graveyard is my favourite film trope, followed closely by "You're not my father" and "Magic Blood". No wonder I liked TASM2 heaps

It should have ended with a heart to heart with Aunt May. Uncle Ben is to Aunt May even more than what Gwen was to Peter. She see's the Rhino rampaging on TV, it's implied she know's his secret, and she goes to confront her moping nephew. She tells him to celebrate the time he had with Gwen and to be thankful he was blessed to have been a part of her life. That a part of her has never moved on from Ben's death, and that she very well may feel that way for the rest of her life, but that she has obligations and the world spins on. She tells him to remember what Uncle Ben always told him "With great power comes great responsibility."- Cue the ending we see.

I always thought it was selfish of Peter he spends all this time on his parents, mopes over Gwen, while the woman who raised him and is morning the loss of her husband is swept entirely under the rug.

who else could´ve been spider-man or a successful cross-species?

Nobody - still doesn't mean he was DESTINED to become Spider-Man. It was still a complete accident, it's not like Richard Parker was like "Yeah, i'm gonna turn my son into a cross-species FOR THE LULZ!!". He never expected Peter to go to Oscorp and get bitten by one of the spiders.

well that´s true but still is kinda exclusive to the parkers...

I heard somewhere that the announcement could be around AoU's release. Makes sense if that's true.

The level of coincidence puts it a little low on the plausibility scale, though.

I think that would have been too depressing. There's no law about every superhero film needing to end on an uplifting note, but that one in particular comes across as a total defeat. What is the movie's message then, if every good thing he did throughout the story has lead to this? Gwen+Peter is a cool angle, but that can't trump the Spider-Man part of it... and Spider-Man needs to be about more than just Gwen+Peter. That's the hero's motto, "With great power", etc. Considering that this film was probably the last of the TASM series, ending it that way would have left a really bitter aftertaste, I think.

Tacking on a poorly set up Rhino at the end was not the way to go, but I think the core idea was a good one: Spidey making a comeback, showing that he rose above his pain. At least it feels conclusive, I think that's important.

Candace Patton should be cast as Glory Grant. She can either work for the mayor or for the Daily Bugle..

Not likely she'd take on another franchise right now as she's committed to a series.

So did you guys hear that new rumor? Apparently John Malkovich is being considered to play Vulture! I hope Lizard is in it. He is a great Spider-Man villain and Dylan Baker is a great Dr. Connors. I think two villains is enough though. If they do put a third villain in though, it should be Kraven, Scorpion, or Mysterio. May 6th 2011! I can't wait! It's going to be AMAZING! :spidey::liz:
