I don't think so, but again they are both ignorant and arrogant.

When you have those two traits, you take twice as long to finally hear and understand any type of wake up call.

In this case, 7 years

Well, they were not doing great before.

I know some would disagree, but I would not be surprised if they were sold off/bankrupted before 7 years was up. They have been bleeding several billions for several years in a row and show no signs of stopping it.

All this, BEFORE the hack and the plummeting consumer brand perception.

It will be interesting.

Grain of salt taken, of course, but this could very well be the final nail.

It could be.

The big bosses in Japan may just be sick of it.

They like the idea of having a movie studio, but this particular one is just proving to be a pain in their butts. I'm sure more lawsuits are coming.

Seriously, if by March we don't here of some Sony higher ups like Pascal and company getting the axe, I will be very, very surprised.

Weren't they the ones that coerced Sony into restarting the talks? Also, semi-related question, but when was the last time a CBM 'exclusive' turned out true? And, another related question, why can't we say its full name? I've been lurking a while, but I missed that part for some reason.

I think it's because that site is such a hotspot for trolling, immaturity, and anything in between. Their scoops are not always reliable, anyone could submit something to it, so it's only worth listening to a portion of the time.
I actually check the front page quite regularly, but it is a hotbed of nonsense and idiocy.

I'm gonna write him up a note this weekend. But, off the top of my head, some possible talking points are: - We're doing something different - it's time to celebrate the bad guys for once.
-We're inspired by the classic team/mission of movies: Dirty Dozen, Magnificent Seven, Guns of Navarone. We want that spirit, that SWAGGER.
- If the Spider-Man franchiseis the Beatles, then we're the Sex Pistols.
-Flint Marco is gonna steal the show.
-The character is pure id - the anarchic enthusiast of the team. A chance to have FUN while celebrating being bad.
-Tom embodies that anarchy, that triumphant nihilism - we've seen him tap into that spirit before in roles like Bronson, but now we have the chance to crank the volume up to ELEVEN.
-He's gonna storm through London at the end like God-f***ing-zilla. That is not purple prose. He'sgoing to be AS TALL AS A SKYSCRAPER in the third act of the movie. What does Dr. Strange have? Magic tricks? [frick] you, magic tricks - we've got a skyscraper Tom Hardy knocking down buildings!!!!

Interesting. Seems like Goddard had some earnestly good ideas for the project. It also seems like it never occurred to him which studio he'd be working for.

So their response to a film that was widely considered to have to many villians that were too hammy is to "ramp it up to eleven" with the sinister six

Niiiice

That is beyond stupid. If you make Peter's villains loveable rogues and then you have them beaten by Spider-man you have the chance of making your main character come across as the baddie beating those misguided, if sympathetic guys. Instead of the superhero taking down a gang of villains.

****! oh ****!! That can't be legit! Marvel PLEASE save Spider-Man before Goddard and Sony run him into the ground. :csad::waa:

I had this thought Man of Steel was only ranked 2 scores higher 55% on RT than The Amazing Spider-Man 2 53% but nobody is saying the Superman franchise is in the ****s

Because the sequel will feature Batman. Problem solved.

Isn't there anyone at Sony that wants to tell a nuanced and sophisticated story?

Yeah, I read that and all I can think after reading it is the e-mail hacks shouldn't be the only hack Sony needs to worry about, as this guy is obviously a hack.

She's right about one thing though - Flint Marko will steal the show! :cwink:
Too bad she misspelled my name...

I made the same observation a while ago and got a ton of excuses from people unwilling to admit that maybe MoS wasn't a rousing success all across the board. But, in WB's defense, their film actually made a profit so it's worth their time to make a sequel.

Read a new article on yahoo saying Sony is now trying to sue twitter for the leaks. I don't see how twitter can control what people post. I mean sure they can take something down after it has been put out there, but once it is out there a bunch of people share it and before you know it, it's everywhere.

I want to get one thing straight about my position on ASM and ASM2, I like both movies, still. I will not change my mind on that as I have seen the movie several times and recently but the reason I like the movies is almost entirely down to the actors. Garfield, Stone, Sheen and Fields in the first one. Garfield, Stone and Fields in the second one. My like of both movies has almost nothing to do with the villains, nothing to do with the pacing and structure, nothing to do with the narrative and storytelling because in both movies it is POOR.

I was willing to give Sinister Six a fair shake but that email from Goddard (DEARY ME!!) is worse (WORSE!!) than the suggestion of Vultress for SM4. Get rid of the people in charge of the Spider-Man franchise, writers, directors and producers because it is becoming more and more apparent they haven't got the first ****ing clue.

That can't be true, can it?

That was Goddard's ideas? There goes my faith...

Maybe it was the plan B theory that Goddard went over to sabotage the project.

Quick question here for you guys... This is assuming they reboot and do the origin story, again.

Am I the only one that wants to see him absolutely terrible as Spider-Man for the first 5-10 minutes? Not catching every street thug, not swinging perfectly and majestically through the streets of New York, running out of web fluid mid battle/swing sequence?

With TASM they had him swinging on chains and whatnot, but I still didn't get the feel that he had actually trained himself to do any of these things. Sure his powers give him acrobatic abilities, but he still needs to perfect them to be the Spidey we saw in TASM 2.

I'd just like to see a bit of clumsiness when in the suit at first. Marvel would have a fun time using it as comic relief and it would make Peter very grounded. Make us feel what it would be like if you just got those powers and started swinging through the streets fighting crime. Errors, errors and more errors.

It is scary, isn't it?

I think he could still be good though, with the right collaboration.
