Is Garfield coming back???

For me the interesting aspects are;
1. Garfield's name was on the casting call, AFTER he supposedly ducked the Sony chiefs meeting.

2. The casting call for was ASM3 NOT S6. S6 was supposed to come out in 2016 and ASM3 was supposed to come out in 2018.

3. The casting call happened BEFORE the leek but hasn't been taking down or amended over a month later.

I'm relieved if it is true. Hearing Spider-Man linked with names like Lerman (who I thought was hilariously bad in Percy Jackson). I thought Garfield was brilliant as Spider-Man, screw the haters. I actually have trouble listening to Maguire's voice coming out of Spider-Man's costume such is the gap in quality of performance for the title character.

Seriously though, If SONY just ignores Marvel, keeps on making Spider-Man movies, and robs us of a Spider-man cameo in Civil War, Infinity War, or any chance of appearing in the MCU...I'll...I'll freaking hack SONY myself!!!!

... no i won't, but this is seriously disappointing.. all that hype for nothing..

I still maintain if the right people are sacked and the right people hired Sony can pull an 'X-Men:FC'. Sony are well aware that the last movie is the second movie in a row that made less than the predecessor and that ASM2 at best received lukewarm reviews.

Sack the producers of the ASM series and Webb (sorry Mark but you are a casualty of war) and let Goddard and a producer with a good track record close out the ASM series.

Seriously though there is still hope, that ID2 casting call is just all wrong, it says the films stars Tommy Lee Jones, and Will Smith (Rumoured) and it films in New York.

Well Will Smith is definitively not returning and Tommy Lee Jones lol, I think they got confused with Men in Black. And Emmerich usually films in Canada and that is where ID is expected to film as well.

On the website there is also a casting call for a Warner Bros feature film with the exact description of DoFP, i'm not kidding it says 'A comic book hero is sent to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants'

Because, it was before the Sony hacks, they could've easily scrapped TASM3, SS, Venom and the female spin offs between now and then.
Besides, hardly anyone cares about TASM3 or SS anymore, most of us want Spidey in the MCU! be it a Netflix series or a movie, I don't care as long as we get Spidey in the MCU!

With these things there's always a layer of BS rumors before you get to the real stuff, and sadly I think this might the former. "Sadly" because I'd mildly like it if there was an actual thing to talk about (a movie being produced) rather than the same old MCU/Avi sucks thing (of which I am up to my friggin cojones). I've heard that the F4 boards are the most depressing around, but frankly I think this is worse... especially compared to how it was pre-TASM2 release. It feels post-apocalyptic. It's an "eh" reason to want a TASM3, but hey.

If Sony want a movie out in 2016 then you'd think we'd hear news in January. If the movie is scheduled for 2017 (with no Marvel 2016 cameo) they could delay news till the summer.

We haven't heard anything regarding the leaks either though, either possibility is fair game now. We'll find out in the coming days if it's legit, someone will dig a bit deeper

Hopefully. Andrew is perfect as Peter and Spidey. All he needs is a good script.
And they need to bring Dane back too. If not his small amount of time he would've be the best villain in Spider-Man movies.

I disagree, Andrew's Spider-Man (in TASM2) was annoying, especially his execution of the jokes. (Which weren't funny, and didn't make sense).
Dane was awesome though, he would've owned the role of GG, if he was given better material.

But I want them to start fresh with a new Spider-Man in the MCU.

Harry should never have been the Green Goblin. Ruined Gwen's death scene for me, which otherwise would have probably been the highlight of the movie.
